H-pipes
#22
asked this on another forum, and have not received an answer back yet, whats the deal with the x, h or what ever pipes, other than mixing the exhaust, the old days we had tail pipes and muffles on each side, no mixing, whats the advantage of the pipes coming together
#23
pipes coming together creating equal backpressure and better exhaust flow which equals better power #s. X gives slightly more power than the H but I think most people on this forum would agree that the sound of the H is worth the small loss in power. I think the prochamber sound better than all of them! Thats what I have. Hope that helps

I just put on the Pypes OR H pipe. Fitment was fine, I also installed the Mid mufflers from Cervini's that are polished made by Pypes for Cervini's that exit to both sides of the car for the C 300 body kit and I must say they are Obnoxiouslly LOUD ( way toooooo loud, gurggly and attention getting) I think i will be putting the stock CATTED H Pipe back on to quiet the system back down a notch.

Hah!! LOL
this is in front of my brother's house (that's his and his wife's redfire parked in the driveway to the right, and their neighbor has the white pony package V6 on the left side of the street)
Truth be told, his neighbors have to deal with him driving his BULLITT in and out of the trailer at different times
so my Stang is no big deal

Is it just me or does every off road H pipe, X pipe or pro chamber makes the mustang Sound like a tractor trailer???

Just to throw out an opinion, but I love the way my flows sound with my Bassani catted X. Not quite as loud as the offroad h set up, but has a good tone. I liked the tone better than with the O/R H. But exhasut tone is a personal preference. Try to find some local stangs and listen to them in person, thats what I did.

I love the sound of the H-pipe but I agree with Wu in that the trumpeting can get annoying. though I've read, and heard that putting resonators at the front of the pipe will completely eliminate the trumpeting. So I may have my muffler shop do that.
