H-pipes

I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I'm new here and I've been trying to find a good H-pipe to go with my Flowmaster AT Axlebacks. All I know of are MRT, MAC, and Pypes. Are there any others I might want to consider before I might just scrap the whole thing and get a full on exhaust setup with an X-pipe because there just aren't many H-pipes out there?

I've got the pypes o/r h setup with stingers. The h is real cheap quality and was a pain for fitment. I'd say just save the headache and go with a different brand or even the x.

I have a Pypes o/r H and had no issues with fitment at all. I have had it since they first came out, and it sounds AWESOME with the Flows.

If you are gonna run the Flowmaster AT's, I suggest you go with an h-pipe. Whatever brand you choose, they will sound a lot better than with an x-pipe. X-pipes are too raspy with the Flows, in my opinion.

Ide also go with pypes. I have a bassani o/r x-pipe, and Im thinking about cutting my factory h-pipe to fit in place of the x-pipe crossover section. Basically so I can have an o/r h-pipe instead of an x-pipe for a while to see how i like it.

I've got the O/R H from Pypes and didn't have any problems with the install.

I think the Pypes sounds great. Go here if you want to hear what it sounds like with your Flows...

Click To Watch

Warning! You will probably purchase the H pipe after watching this video maybe it is the third to fourth gear chirp

Do they make any non O/R H pipes so I dont have to worry bout emissions testing in TX? or does it matter? Or if I get a highflow catted H pipe then I dont have to worry about passing the inspection/emissions testing?

I want something a lil more than my bassani's but dont want to have to change out the exhaust every year.

Since i am from texas too (I live in the RGV in between brownsville and McAllen) the best thing to do is keep your factory H-pipe and buy the Pypes offroad H-pipe. then when the test comes around then just bold your stock H-pipe back in for the test and reinstall the Pypes H-pipe

I've got no quality issues w/ the Pypes OR-H at all. One of the best mods I've done. Install was easy and fitment is supurb. Are some of the bolts a little tricky to get to? Sure, but that's not the Pypes fault. If you've got any experience turning a wrench, it's a piece of cake, but yes your kuckles might get dirty.
Also, I had an X-pipe and from day one I couldn't wait to get an H-pipe back on.

Awesome thanks guys. It's just hard cause you want that perfect sound. I would have bought the H-pipe, but Pypes didn't have any at MustangWeek.... what a shame.

If you have a tune and then get a H pipe; do you need to get a tune update because of the H pipe and the oxygen sensors?

I've had the Pypes H pipe and now have the prochamber. I know its expensive but god the Prochamber is soooo worth it. I couldn't stand the trumpeting iwth the Pype H.

And Yeah I'm in Austin, just switch your stock H back in for testing.

That's kinda what I wanted and didn't want to hear lol. Most people are saying both are worth it but once again the prochambers are like $300 more than the pypes. I might just have to suck it up and go with the Prochambers....

How is the prochamber much better? I'm not argueing, I'd really like to know your thoughts about it. I was thinking of going with an H or the PC, but I'm stuck in the middle about it.

Pros/cons/tone/rasp, what's up?

well first off the prochamber completly eliminated the trumpeting that came with then o r h pipe. If u don't know what trumpeting is you will find out very quick if u get the pypes. Another thing is the tone of the PC was much deeper l. The h is a little louder but doesn't sound as good. The PC also comes in 3 pieces which for me made the install easier. The only con is the price, but in my opinion its worth it. Please remember that I he owned both. But if u decide on the h please let me know, I have one for sale and I'll make u a deal

Not so fast. The type/brand of muffler will determine whether trumpeting will be present or not.
