h pipe
h pipe
Ive looked at Taco bills hot links but before i pull my exhaust apart. Does the h-pipe slip inside the mid pipes? My aftermarket hpipe i just bought seems like its the same size as my mid pipes there is no way they are fitting inside each other, I'll have to either weld them together or expand one of them so it will slip over the other.

Look under your car and you'll see there's two clamps that each end of the pipe goes into. No need weld or fabricate anything crazy. The new H-pipe will work just fine with your mid pipes.
Not that greatest pic but this is one of the clamps I'm talking about.

They're not supposed to. Each one slips into one end of the clamp I just posted a picture of. Both of those clamps are currently on your car. They come from the factory like that and they'll work just the same with your new H-pipe.
i think maybe the mid pipes i bought from Pypes were cut when they took them off? they dont have that alinment notch on them. I bought them used at Englishtown swap meet from the Pypes trailer
ok and two post ahead of me lol thanks for al the help I only have one of those clamps as i have a v-6 i'm converting to gt dual exhaust ok so i'll have to find another clamp some where I know they make stainless ones for street rod or maybe ford sells them?
I had an pypes h-pipe and mine didn't have that either. Non of the pypes h-pypes come with the alignment notch. That's just a factory thing and It's not necessary. Trust me just follow TacoBill's how-to and everything will go according to plan. Stop worrying and start wrenching.
See those black rubber things. I'm guessing you only have one on the side your exhaust currently runs. So you'll probably need to go to your Ford dealer and pic one up. Before you do that check and see if you happen to have one there already. It's possible Ford just put's both rubber isolaters in to keep things simple.

maybe Santa will bring me a cali special rear bumper so i dont have to cut mine lol .Thanks Leo and office space for all your help and super fast too. I'm just hoping the trans crossmember is in the same place cause saw one giy who did it on his v6 and he had to extend the exhaust hanger on the gt hpipe to reach those isolators or hangers what ever you want to cal them. thanks again for all your help
Just make sure everything is T409 or T304 SS. Aluminized or mild steel should not be used on any of your exhaust parts. Flowmaster loves to use cheap steel for the muffler shell and T304 for its tips, confusing many customers.
your how tos are the best!
