GT500 supercharger fit a 2005 mustang Gt?

Hi, well does anyone know if the stock Eaton supercharger off a GT500 would fit our mustangs GT's? If so would it take alot to make it fit. Its probably a dumb question but I was just wondering. Thanks

I don't imagine its a simple bolt on swap. Probably a fair deal of fabrication, not even counting tuning. You're probably better off with a GT specific kit unless you can do it all or mostly yourself

It's definitely not a simple swap. The GT500 has 5.4L engine and a different deck height, which means the intake manifold would be different. And considering the Eaton SC is not as efficient as the 4.6L-specific twin screws out there, you would be far better off (and likely a lot cheaper) to stick with what works.

you would probably need a custom intake manifold to make it work

its not so much the block but the rod that would go through the block that would blow the engine

I am sure it could be done but the amount of custom fabrication required I am sure would negate any cost savings or may even end up costing more. With so many good bolt on supecharger kits around that were designed specifically for these cars I would not bother trying to use anything else.

The block is actually pretty strong, one of the strongest 4.6L blocks there is.

That may be true and I'm not the smartest man, but I'd think the block would be "challenged" if you slap a roots blower designed for a 5.4 to it and "turn it up to 11"!!!!!!

There are are hundreds if not thousands of these 3 valve 4.6 running twin-screw or roots blowers at or above the 10.5 PSI the GT500 has stock.
The er are not motors popping all over, the bloack can handle it easy. The rods seem to be good up to 500 RWHP, and then beware.

1) What is the point of using a GT500 blower? You would have to custom fab a intake manilfold it could cost 2 thousand just for that piece without the blower. The other hardware for the GT500 may also not fit, it is a 5.4 4 valve motor, and has differewnt heads.
2) There are numerous brands of supercharger that could be purchased, installed and running for less money and troble and would not need custom fabrication of parts. They can make as much (roots) power or more power (twin-screw) than the Eaton roots blower.

i've thought of this myself a while ago, and even got the prices for the complete supercharger assembly from Ford.

the intake manifold was around $685 USD, the eaton compressor unit was $1,780 USD..
all in all i was looking at around $3,250 USD in parts, plus a WHOLE LOT of hassles.
figured it's not worth it, and got me the H.O whipple ( thanks CR @ TillmanSpeed!! )

Also, the Eaton blower seems to be maxed at about 11psi because of the snout/pulley design.

Yeah guess I was just thinking out loud about this one. Hey G.T. I finally got my car working again. Ford wouldnt replace the TB but they did "service"ot and cleaned and I havent had any problems since. Thanks again for all the advise you gave me back them.

Agreed, we have regularly done 10psi Magnacharger installs with no issues whatsoever on stock bottom ends.

I contemplated this for a split second based on the fact that there are GT500 guys pulling their Eatons and swapping in Whipples. If you could get a take-off for a song it might make some financial sense. I'm just going to go with an intercooled whipple from the get go.

If you really wanted to do this it could be done, you would just need to weigh out the cost of the custom fab work against the cost of just making you car a 4v. If you swapped your 3v heads for 4v heads I don't see why you couldn't put that blower on the car.
