This is not attached it's just for Showing an engine cover alternative. Some cutting and modification s of the bracket s would be required.

No way Kevin. I love your other products, but that's a big no!

I'm not feeling that either, but keep the ideas coming. And Kevin... this is a bit off topic... but how much is an '05 Mustang decklid (painted MG preferrably)? One without spoiler holes drilled in it?

Doesn't look too bad, what needs to go is the Bird emblem though.

You Know I am not real hot on the cover myself but I love a challenge! I may have to modify it into something spectacular just because.

I have been asked on several occasions about sheet metal. Ford does not offer any sheet metal or bumper covers for the 05 in color. The Deck lid is fairly inexpensive as I remember but by the time you paint it and ship it . Well then its spendy. I assume you are wanting to put on a ducktail and do not want the holes in the decklid. I have been thinking about this quite a bit and there has got to be a way of making an attractive plug/cover for the decklid that would blend nicely with a spoiler! Maybe something tapered out of billet aluminum or stainless! Very thin and bullit shaped stopping just short of the new spoiler.

Kevin... I actually took my spoiler off this weekend after buying some plastic plugs at the auto store and painting them with MG touch-up paint. I take the spoiler off and go to plug it, but by decklid has been scarred. Around the base of each spoiler "arm" where the foam tape was, there is a line in the shape of a rectangle all the way around where the arms touched the trunk. I used two different chemicals for taking off adhesive, and I got all the foam tape off, but the line is still there. I scratched at it a bit, and it is actually paint (or clear) missing. So, plugging the holes won't work for me. How much is the plain decklid unpainted with no wires or lights? I'm just weighing my options here.

Hmmm I see some real possibilities with this cover. It appears from the photo that the Tbird/V8 emblem is an insert of some kind. SHouldnt be hard to make another with emblems/decals more in tune with the GT. Would assume it is paintable? Also I suppose one could find a used one from salvage yards. Also appears one could have something simalar to this fabricated from sheet metal. Very interesting.

What would one with brackets cost from Ford?

For those holes in the decklid you could put on a luggage rack.
