Don't worry too much about. Not a big deal.
It's not as bad as it sounds. Contiuous grinding can cause all sorts of issues but you shouldn't have any problems with missing a gear once or twice. Everyone on this board has ground a gear at some point so we know how you feel. Anyway over time this can damage the syncs and or damage the gears enough to need service. You also run the risk of bending forks and such if you mich a gear really hard.

I've done it going to third a few times . . . I just yell out "GRIND ME A POUND OF THAT!" to make myself feel better...

For the first time since I got the car I miss shifted, or should I say the car goofed. I floored it in first, of course, let the rpms up to 5,000 rpm and then went to slam it into 2nd but it didn't slam. It got stuck in the neutral area. I had the clutch in all the way and no matter how many times I tried I could not get it to go into second, so I shifted it back into first, yes the clutch is still in all the way, and then I was able to shift into second. No idea what happened but what a pain. Good thing nobody was around but I am sure somebody hear me.
Adrenalin, ive actually had the same thing happen to me in mine (i know the 6 and 8 have different trannies) and i had to go back to first to get it to go into 2nd. Then after going into 3rd or higher, it wouldnt let me go back to 2nd until i went to first. After i shut the car off, and turned it back on, everything went back to normal.
One thing I can add to this (from experience) is that when you find you've missed a gear, it's VERY important to just let go and get the clutch back in as soon as possible. Of course, get your foot off the gas too as you do this. The longer you try and force it into the gear you've missed, while of course you've got your foot buried, the more damage you will do.
When I had my '97 Cobra, I had one of the early T-45s that hadn't had it's update. So I had all that gear ***** in second and sometimes forth. Well, I missed third once REAL bad in the heat of battle, and that was it for the T-45. At that point, she would't stay in 3rd, and was chinking in 2nd and sometimes 4th. It just wasn't worth fixing, I replaced it.

My issue is in my 2000 ZX2.
After start up I sometimes have a hard time getting it to go into reverse.
Sometimes I have to put it back into 1st gear before it will go into reverse. (I leave it in 1st while parked with the e-brake, just in case e-brake fails)

I ground 3rd the first time I drove mine. The clutch starts engaging a lot sooner than anything I've driven. So far, with 50 miles under my belt, I'm still having a hard time getting used to the clutch.

I think the T-3650 in the 05 does have a synchronized reverse gear?
