Don't get it painted, the paint will rub off from the hood matt rubbing agains it. If you want to change the color of the bar, have it powder coated. It will last much longer.

I agree Powder coating is much better then regular paint. However as long as you paint your parts and clear it after words with hardener it should not rub off. perhaps in time but not for a year or so

JUST GOT MINE IN TONIGHT! INSTALLED IN 5 MINS....

Got to get up early for work, so I can tear up the beltway onramps and see what kind of difference this will make.
And it clears the plenum cover by about .05mm.....

Recieved my strut along with some sport LCAs last evening. Both boxes beat to hell, but the parts were not damaged. Both items are heavy so I can see how the boxes get abused with handling.

Darth - Did you do the "07 Mod" and put the cable studs on top of the cover or leave it? Wondering if it just worth it to do it on the 06 too for extra clearance.

Now for some time to install them....

Okay, I totally don't understand people who say they feel no difference!! I have a vert, so there was a little more roll to it....now, I have a stiff body (keep your puns to yourself). I take hard turns and I have ZERO flex, the whole car moves as one unit. I love it, it feels so much tighter!
Gotta say, for the sale price, this was a heck of a bargain!!

Got my single STB put in this afternoon. Noticed that my hood liner was rubbing on my plenum cover when I opened up the hood. Test fit the bar for clearance and decided to put the fuel rail studs on top of the cover to make sure of the clearance (and because of the rubbing above). Also noticed the small hose on the CAI was rubbing into the liner as well. I jammed it further on to the tube on the valve cover and tucked it under the oil fil cap. While I was in there, I removed my hood strut and applied my cool engine tag that I got from Gary Loat on the radiator cover.

  • [*]
  • Fin per inch selection is a function of managing air volume, velocity, cooling fin surface area, cooling fin type, and row construction. It is not simply more is better. (Have you ever installed a cam that was too big?) Some brands on the market have packed their radiators with 18+ fins per inch without understanding the implications of the higher density. The higher the density of the fins makes for higher pressure across the frontal area of the core and limits the volume of air that can pass through the radiator. This higher pressure will also strain electric fans. As the pressure goes up the efficiency of the fan goes down. This problem generates higher idle temperatures with no noticeable gains at cruising speeds.

  • Interlocking front and rear accessory attachment points ensures exact fitment every time.

  • Jig fixtured using laser cut components to ensure the highest quality every time.

Not Happy!!!

well I got my REPLACEMENT STB today from GMS, and I am not happy at all!! Sorry JR, but you lied to me in the beginning about the double brace not coming down on my cover, which it did, and broke it, now the cover is as good as garbage. Then I'm anxiously waiting for the single brace, it arrives today, the box comes in HORRIBLE shape and I open the plastic on the brace, and there are 4 NICKS in it on the one side, VERY NOTICEABLE and 2 of them are developing RUST! Just like the one I bought in the first place is starting to develop rust!! And brace looked like a 5 yr old was playing around and beating around with it, I guess I got someone else's old brace that they sent back to you......

I've had it, JR, I sent you back the REPLACEMENT STB with the call tag you wanted me to send my old one back in, I'm done finished, dont bother trying to send me a replacement brace again.....

here is a pic of it, sorry it was on my cameraphone:

GMS is looking like a new Steeda performance company.... The single bar brace looks a lot like the one on the shelby GT 500.

We have done everything we can to help you. I am sorry the bar had dings - we wrap the parts and then wrap on top of that wrapping. Stainless steel can't rust. You keep saying it is rusting but it can't rust. I never lied to you about the bar clearing the cover - look at how many people here have no issues

This photos shows that it clear teh MIDWEST cover

Our bar and the Shelby GT500 bar are VERY differnt (as different as they can be) our bar goes straight across the tower the the Shelby bar kicks forward by 5 inches

Stainless steel can rust.

Stainless steel is a combination of Iron, Nickel and Chromium.
If never exposed to salt and water and corrosives, it should not rust.
My strut brace won't rust because it is waxed and never goes out in the rain.

Our bars won't rust - sure if you drive car into the ocean anything is possible but let's be realistic
