Granatelli K-member and A-arms?

Has anyone installed/used the Granatelli K-member and lightweight A-arms? Combined they claim to reduce weight by 45Lbs.

Are their parts generally of good quality?

The GMS part is nice but the AJE K-member looks to be the best IMHO. The BMR pieces are no slouch as well. AJE also makes an adjustable A arm along with adjustable front struts that are really trick. www.ajeracing.com.

BMR is about to release two different sets of A Arms and they will work with the stock K member or the BMR k member. They have already released photos on another site.

I don't think anyone's installed them yet. I called Granatelli earlier this month to get info on the K-member (specifically how much it weighed) and was told they couldn't release any info until after SEMA which is at the end of this month. I looked again at Summit Racing's listing and they have a "ship by" date of 11/08/06 so I'm pretty sure that all means they're not available yet...

Sweet, thanks for posting. You don't happen to know how much I might be looking at for a set would you?

For the BMR's? No pricing yet. Another 2 weeks or so.

Granatelli's looks like ~300 and their K-member is ~360 + motor mounts I think

Same here. I remember thinking when I installed the BMR K-member, "damm [sic]*these A-arms are heavy". Wish I could have done it all at once though.

* thanks so much for the censorship

BMR now has pics of their A-arms on their site. It won't be too long. 11+ lbs. weight savings!

Have you found out if that's the total savings for both arms?

i have the AJE stuff (about$800) k-member and a-arms. the best i could weigh the old and new pieces it was almost 50 lbs. difference. the AJE stuff is first class and super light. maybe too light for road race or hard corner carver stuff. along with the rad support i lost over 80lbs. not bad for one evenings work.

I believe the info on Granatelli's website regarding their K-member may be misleading:
•Fits 2005-07 Mustang GT and V-6
•Direct OEM replacement
•Saves 30 lbs., ultra strong
•Eliminates flex, increases caster
•Improves steering, reduces understeer
•Improves camber curve 07 roll center height
•Increases header, oil pan 07 starter clearance
•Lightweight lower a-arms optional
•HD tubular steel w/precision welds
•Durable powder coated finish
•Includes all necessary hardware
•Installs in approximately 6-8 hours
I reread it for the umteenth time last night and the last item jumped out at me.
Didn't I read somewhere else that the install on 05-07 was 2 hours?

From BMR's website: "Ford did a great job designing the '05 Mustang. Everything comes apart so easily, it almost seems like it was designed by racers. To some, a tubular K-member may seem like a complicated and difficult installation, however in the '05 Mustang it can be done in 2 hours with hand tools!"
So I curiously looked at GMS's description for another K-member
•Fits 1979-1995 & 1996-04 V-8 Mustangs
•Direct OEM replacement
•Saves 30 lbs., ultra strong
•Eliminates flex, increases caster
•Improves steering, reduces understeer
•Improves camber curve & roll center height
•Increases header, oil pan & starter clearance
•Lightweight lower a-arms optional
•HD tubular steel w/precision welds
•Durable powder coated finish
•Includes all necessary hardware
•Installs in approximately 6-8 hours using basic hand tools
No one at Granatelli seems to know how much the new K-member is going to weigh therefore the apparent cut-and-paste claim that it's 30lbs lighter is up in the air at this point.

And judging by the design of those A-arm mounts, the lightweight tubular A-arms don't appear to be optional...
