I'm told you have to really yuck these things up before you get any traction out of them. Do some burnouts with them on before you get to the track if you can. If not drive around with them on the street to get the surface roughed up, be careful taking corners because the sidewalls aren't strong.

Drive around the water box and back into it. Rev up high and dump the clutch, then quickly tap the brake holding the gas so the front brakes lock up a little and the rear still spins. Since they will be new, burn out as long as you can to really heat them up and make them sticky. This takes a lot of practice and I could never get a hang of it, so I will have line locks this year.

If you have the stock gears dump it at 6000 rpm off the line. If you're losing traction at 6000 rpm you're not burning out enough.

Nothing better than straight from the horse's mouth!
I'm glad Don posted only the links to MT. If you have seen any of his vids, you could only imagine his recommendations for burnouts.

If you want to see this in action here ya go. This of a vid of the burnout required for 1.65 60ft times and bieng able to use your M/T ET streets for more than 1 season.

Thats is about exactly how I did them after my second pass. The car hooked up much better. I still can not get a 60 ft below 2.2 And that sucks because I was ran 14 flat and 14.1 twice. we had what the tower said was at least a 30 mph wind we were driving into with higher gusts. I dont think that had anything to do with my 60 ft time though. Just my crappy driving.
