Thanks... it was dynoed a while back, but they did it in 3rd gear (instead of 4th, which is 1:1). They said they couldn't lock the auto trans into 4th gear. So, the numbers are suspect, but it pulled 270rwhp and 319 rwtq. Personally, I think the hp is a little low, and the tq is high.

Fantastic Trees
My only problem is, I'm so used to 1/4 miles I was WTF over your E.T.'s even though you said 1/8 mile runs.

Yea, it sux that the closest 1/4-mi track to me is 90 miles away. We have two local 1/8-mi tracks that we go to quite a bit. FWIW, my best run Friday in the 1/8-mi was 8.822, which is approximately mid-13.60's in the 1/4-mi. A good rule-of-thumb is to multiply the 1/8 time by 1.55 to get a good guesstimate of the 1/4 time.

Nice driving, I hope that my wife and I never have to meet you on the track in eliminations. Those times are awesome and worth instilling stress in any competitor. Keep up the good work.

BIG DON......knocking down the clock!!! :drive:
Awesome times man! I'd have to agree with Derek on this one....it doesn't matter what kind of power you have in brackets. It's R/T's like your's that win and are very intimidating!

Coming from you two, that means a helluva lot to me!! Thanks for the kudos!! I see your performance numbers and on-track successes, and I just hope to get there too... someday. In the meantime, I will continue to practice to get better and have some fun doing it. My average RT last Friday was 0.540 (for 11 runs), so now I have a new benchmark to strive for every trip to the track.
BTW, the track updated their website, with results and pictures.

At my local track, that would have been worth $800 for a typical Saturday night. If you were running for points all season, you could win much more, besides the $800 per win and the contingency prizes if you display stickers.

Wish my track had pics like that and a website that was that cool. The black Corvette on the second page looks similar to one that runs the streets where I live, you don't even want to mess with him and it is killing me. He is running low 11's on street tires and by the time I post this reply I will be willing to bet he has broke into the 10's, all while remaning daily driven.

David,
This particular track isn't set up that way. It is run by a non-profit organization and is intended to help curb illegal street racing (thus a large number of imports, aka ricers, that show up). It's only $20 to run time trials, and another $5 to enter the bracket race. It's not a great track, but it's close and it's fun to get out and run. Last Friday was only the 3rd time I entered the brackets there.
The other track we go to is an NHRA-member track (1/8-mi). They have a variety of bracket classes, from trophy-only to cash-payout gamblers. I have only entered one bracket race there... we usually go for "test & tune" runs. They also run an NHRA Summit Series, but we missed the first half of the season (I didn't even have my car yet when it started!). Maybe I'll enter the Summit Series next year.

The other track we go to has a couple freelance photographers take photos. One posts them here:
