Gettin' Blown... so to speak. :)
It seems like the KB is a little more of a complicated install than the Saleen Supercharger I put in mine. Keep us posted on your specs. I am interested in increasing the boost on mine from 5 to 7 psi and get 400rwhp but I have been waiting to see if their have been any reliability issues.

If you are looking for more out of your Saleen safely you should call Jim at JDM Engineering in NJ at teamJDM.com they are the Saleen Tuning experts. I don't have a Saleen, I decided to go with the Ford Racing/Whipple intercooled but if I had gone Saleen it would have been through them. They sell their tune seperately and from everything I have heard and read the results are great.

Vegas, what's up bro! Those have got to be new numbers! What did you do? Were you at 10 psi before, because I remember when you were at 485rwhp or so....What did you do?

Well, I'm 28 hours into it, and I'm still having a blast. I would definitely do it again. It's kind of a pain in the **** sometimes, but I'm looking forward to the final product. The good thing is, I can always say I did it myself.
Besides, if I did it again, I could do it in 12-15 hours, easy. This has been a big learning experience for me. Definiely worth it. Get one, put it in yourself. If you can change the oil, you can put this kit it. Just requires time and patience.

Hey Hatchman,
You are bringing back some memories of almost 10 yrs. ago. I put a Kennebell supercharger on my 96 Cobra in the fall of 1996. It took me 2 weekends and a couple of hrs. every night in between to get mine on. Just being so careful... reading the manual twice on every move. And sometimes second guessing myself about what I read and reading it again. When I finally hit the key... she fired right up. No sweat. You will do fine. A couple of months later over Xmas break, I helped my boss put his on about 8 1/2 hrs. total. Always easier the second time. Knowledge is a great thing. Looking forward to you 1st driving experience.

Hey Justin,
Are your #'s from the supercharger only or supercharger and the bottle? Good to hear from you again.

Hey Scott, Just S/C'er...I'm not play'n with the bottle till I get a JDM short block. That would be a sure shortcut to me getting my new motor.
Good to hear from you too. I crushed my leg in a motorcycle wreck and have been laid up for awhile. I'm starting to be able to "get around" finally and it sure is nice...

Well, my first driving experience was a little mixed. I could tell the car has lots of potential, but it needs a tune before I really start getting on it.
The acceleration is just phenomenal. If the stock tires hook, the back end just squats and the car takes off like a bullet out of a barrel. I knew the stock tires wouldn't hack it, which is fine, I've been wanting to roast them for the last 18K miles. I'll get a set of 295/40/18's back there on 18x10's soon.
Now the others. Let me say I'm extremelly happy, and I can live with or tune or modify around just about anything, so I'll just nit pick for a minute.
Others:
A little bit of surging on very mild acceleration. Almost like the computer is trying to figure out where to set the timing. Pretty sure a custom tune will get around this.
The stock brakes are not up to par. I could tell right away, with the new power, the stock brakes and the stock tires are not up to the demand. I thought I would be fine with the stock brakes, but when hauling it down from speed, I just don't get the feeling that they are up to the task with the new power and the new wieght.
Speaking of new weight, I can feel it. It feels like you've got somebody sitting on your front bumper while you're driving around. Of course I also had to remove the Strut Tower Brace, so with the feel of a little more flex and a little more weight up front, this mod definitely does not improve handling. However, I've got the CHE-K member brace going on, which should help stiffen up the front end, and going from 1/4 to a full tank of gas helped to get the car back to a "balanced" feel as oppossed to feeling nose heavy, especially on braking.
Sound, you can really hear it. I thought at idle, I wouldn't even be able to hear it, like my stock Eaton on the L. But you can definitely hear it under there. A slight whistling sound, nothing harsh or annoying but you can hear it. Once you get on it just a little bit, the exhaust starts to drown it out a little, but at idle, it's definitely there. It's actually pretty quite once you get on it, compared to a Whipple or an Eaton it's actually pretty stealthy.
The intercooler pump, however, is REALLY loud and annoying. Don't care for it at all. And the fuel pump with the BAP hooked up to it is much more noticeable and I can hear it running, which I never could before.
But like I said, this is all VERY worthwhile trade offs for having so much new power. I love it, and wouldn't go back for anything. Just making some observations.
Hopefully, I'll get a dyno tune and some numbers up soon.

That surging can be solved really easily!!!
Did you kit come with the little boost orifice that is labled for Automatics? Install it.
If you don't have it, call KB and they'll send you one. It goes in the the "T" right before the Bypass Valve, for lack of the proper word.
It's a small cup looking piece.
Let me guess, it does the surging at light throttle, like when your trying to maintain 65-70 mph with light throttle.
It'll take a total of 30 seconds to fix it!

Got it all tuned up. James at RWTD spent about 3 hours building a total custom tune for it, and the car runs great! I was really happy with the numbers as well: 439 rwhp and 411 ftlb tq. I was aiming at somewhere between 430 and 440 on a totally safe daily driver tune, and it worked out great. We could have easily gotten more out of it by raising the timing on the top end, but I wanted to keep it safe.
We compaired the dyno to a 2.4L Kenne Bell he dyno tuned a few weeks before, and my entire tq and hp curve was higher by 5-10 hp or tq up until 5700 rpm, where his more aggressive timing map went above my curve to 445 hp. It appears the 2.6L is a little bit better than the 2.4, but it is 10% bigger so I'm glad I could see some kind of difference between.
Driveability is great, really smooth, quick throttle response, I love it!
Now time for new tires, wheels, and brakes.
Here's a vid, hope the link works:

And some pics. Got a couple more UPR AL radiator caps on it now, but here's what it looks like. The polish job is really nice, but scratches easily.
