Arrow Gears

I need help with some gears. I am thinking about getting either 3.73s or 3.90s. i have the 3.55 now and really they arent that different from 3.31s. Am i gonna notice a difference with 3.73s or should i go with the 3.90s instead?

i was originally gonna go with 4.10s but i will be supercharging within the next year so i thought that would be a bit much

also, i dont really know anything aobut gears, so what are the major brands out there that everyone uses? is there one that everyone usually gets? i have only heard that frpp gears are the best and that they dont make a lot of noise

4.10s will be perfect with most blowers, with the possible exception of twin screw designs however there are alot of dudes running 4.10s with those too. I have 4.10s with my Vortech/Paxton setup and they are great.

I have 4.10's and had a Procharger. They were great. I recently switched to a Whipple screw blower and I'd rather have 3.73's

Whatever you do make sure you get FRRP gears. Motives and other brands have been known to whine. So with that said 3.90's won't be possible since FRRP only makes 3.73 and 4.10.

A lot of people will tell you to stay away with 3.90s, but both myself and a handful of other guys in my local car club are running them and I have yet to hear any whine.

So Im not really sure if what they are trying to spread is a myth, rumor, or we are all just REALLY lucky

3.73s would be a waste of time and money if you already have 3.55s. I was originally afraid to jump all the way to 4.10s but I test drove another Mustang with 4.10s and realized it felt sweet and was not too high in the rpm range for highway driving...about 2400 at 70 or so.

I have motive gears and they do not really whine any more than my stock 3.55s did. The shop that installed mine said they were able to approximate the same gear pattern as was on my stock gears and stay within specs.

Well that's easy, if your friend's car with 4.10s wasn't putting 2-3 cars on you before you got to 100 mph, then your friend can't drive LOL.

Remember: when in doubt, don't fear the gear!

Since you plan on Supercharging in the future I say go with the 3.90 also there are plenty of other gear manufactures to choose from other than FRRP and Motive.

OK back on topic, do either 3.90s or 4.10s; don't do 3.73s.
