OK guys, I have the same question as Patience, but I have an auto. transmission. Some people say 4:10's are too much for an auto. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i drove Torrence's auto on these forumswith the 4.10. it was a lot of fun. i drove it as they were installing my 4.10's. dont do 4.30s if you do a lot of highway driving. stick with 4.10s

You're still here? You haven't gone to the shop yet? DO IT!! You'll love them. I'd recommend the FRPP's...I don't have any whine at all. I had 6000 miles on my car when they were installed and the kit wasn't necessary.

Guys,

this was mentioned on another post about gears, but what about SMOG issues with the 4:10s ? Especially here in Cali? Is that something to worry about?

I've had FRPP 4.10s with my atuo trans since last July... about 13,000 miles. Awesome!!

And re: smog. I can't see why it would make any difference, plus in CA you don't need to worry about it for 6 years.
