I'm interested in the SOS 2-gauge pillar pod, but I need more than 2 gauges. So, I'd like to hear about what other gauge pods you all have (both center and pillar). Let's use this thread to post pics of your pods, plus tell us who makes it, where you got it, and what it cost, as well as your opinion on fit and finish, and installation problems.

I have the SOS gauge pillar but it's sitting in a box at work waiting for better weather to install the gauges. Actually I'm only waiting for an oil change to mount my oil pressure sending unit. Another 1500 miles to go.

SOS told me a 3-pod is doable and I guarantee they will make a 3-pod for you if you ask. If they won't do it, ask to buy an extra pod and dremel it yourself. They also sell that dual pod that goes on the dash, but I wont drill my $1500 dash.

I don't know how to compell to you how good the SOS gauge pillar looks in person. I take it out of the box every day and drool on it.

When I complained to Alan from SOS about them not having a 3-gauge pod, he said: "Since this new body is going to be around for a while, it's feasible we'll do a triple version to see how it looks". Based on how long it's taking them to get the 2-gauge vert version done, I can't wait around for a "maybe" 3-gauge.

He also replied to another poster and said:

Oh, and to Jason and the others who want to make their own triple by simply geting more of our pods:

It's no where near as easy as drilling a few holes and sticking it on the pillar. You'll be missing a few thousand lines of g-code to properly sink the bullets into the pillar and keep the sight lines consistent and correct. Be my guest though to buy another pillar. Just have fair warning that this mod will not look right, IMHO.

Anyway... back to the topic request. I'd like to see pics and read details on all the other kinds people are using.

Is that just a piece of ABS plastic? It looks a lot olike the piece that Floricda 5.0 makes for the SN95s, great idea.

Brad interesting how you have the gauges drilled right in the dash like that. You should try to get a Speed of Sound gauge pillar when the vert version comes out in a few weeks.

Brad/Bruce: do either of those pods angle the gauges towards the driver (it's hard to tell in the pics)? Also, the MRT website says it "requires no drilling or other IP modifications." How are the gauges wired?

I hate A-pillar gauge pods.

Both the MRT pod and the custom pod angle the gauges toward the driver.

When my gauges were installed, SVP Unlimited removed the entire IP for a clean install without drilling. The wires tuck behind the IP.

I love my SOS pod. Having said that.... In one of the many SOS threads on modularfords I asked Alan about a 3 pod version, he did not indicate it would be any time soon. I also asked about buying just a pod and converting mine from two to three and he flat out said no he would not sell just the pod. So I asked about pricing for one of his center pod setups and just disassemble it and use one of those... He never replied with a price. So you might want to check the fine print in your "guarantee".

not sure who made it but it's got the same grain as the radio mouting plastic. all holes were drilled. all I did was take a standard iso double din radio mount and cut the bottom off. it did take a while with a dremal to take a small amount off at a time.

great thing is I am all about sleeper. Those supercharged 5.0's and z28 running around here have no idea what my car is all about with the saleen twin screw it's pretty much silent. Can't quit hang with C5 Z06's "YET"
