I have had my car for 4 months now and never had a problem filling up with gas (at many different gas stations)--until now. The last time I filled it stopped after filling 2 gallons, after that I couldn't put in .3 gallons before it stopped. Now, I do know about the TSB but I thought it was just a little weird that I didn't have one single problem for 4 months and then all of a sudden it just starts.

ps - turning the filler nozzle almost upside down got it to fill correctly--someone on here gave me that tip.. so thanks, whoever you were.

If you get it changed make sure that they do everything else right as well, I had a bad experience with the switch. I also still have the problem with the new one, go figure. It happened again once last week. Search my topics to see what happened when I did the swap.

It happens very rarely to me. It's happend twice since I got the car in february. Once when the tank was very low on gas and again when I took a long road trip and the tank was pretty low. I think it has something to do with the tank filling up with gases when it is low on fuel. It would fill just fine if the automatic shut off would work properly.

Did you fill up at a different station than normal? I find some stations/brands are more prone to the problem than others (I feel lucky, I've only had it happend about 3 times since November).

Hi Deathmonk,
I have only had my Vert since mid March and I never had a problem with filling the tank until 3 weeks ago. Now, what I am about to say is only a guess at this point but what I noticed is if the car is leaning so the gas filler is up higher than I have no problem. It seems if the car is leaning so the fill side is lower than it did not want to fill correctly. Try to fill the car so the fill side is on the uphill side and see if that helps.

It happened to me when my tank was at half.. I had to fill up yesterday when it was close to empty and what do you know--filled up fine.. At the same gas station I usually go to. It was a different pump, but when it was having the problem i tried 3 different pumps at two different gas stations in the same day, so it's not that.

it seems like everyone has a different option but who knows why this happens when it happens..

Mine was hard to fill from most service stations from the day I picked it up. I had the tank replaced in May and now it works fine about 95% of the time. There are still a few pumps that seem to be more sensitive. Still not perfect but it's a whole lot better now.
