Red face Which Fuel Pump For My Supercharger?

I have a lot of mixed thoughts and I thought instead of pm'img everybody I might a well start another thread. I have heard from several people that I should not go with the kenne bell boost a pump. I have also been told to not go with the ford gt dual pumps and I should go with the gt500 pumps because they are the best and most relaible but I don't like the price . I only want to have my car tuned to about 400rwhp and didn't know if I would need the gt500 pumps but I want peice of mind when I am driving my car with the blower on. I will also be getting a wideband and boost gauge and maybe a fuel pressure gauge. I like the price of the K/B pump and the ford gt pumps but would not mind spending the extra $$$ if I need it. Your thoughts please!

You know where I stand, LOL..... I KB BAP is doing the job well for me. The other systems would work too, don't get me wrong.

me tooooooooo...

Me too on this little topic....I have a vortech and I am just waiting to get around to get it installed. I bought it from a guy who was running a flowcharger boost a pump....suppost to be just like the k/b bop? Anyways he was dead set that it was plenty for the 400-475 hp range. But local shops are kinda making me wonder.......They want me to put in the gt500 pumps but I am not up to spending the extra money. I saw a gt supercar pump for sale at $120 shipped..but just not sure what to do?

I am going to have to take the car in for the tsb fuel pump problem anyway. .......the joys of mods......

I bought a GT500 dual pump kit for my Vortech. It's hands down the most reliable fuel pump setup out there. Going cheap initially could potentially lead to a big expense down the road.

I got mine for 625 shipped from a FRPP dealer. Not a bad deal for a plug in play OEM solution. Personally, I didn't want to chance a blown motor to a fuel pump. Also, the GT500 setup allows room to grow in the future.

I have the Magnacharger and with the stock fuel pump Steeda got 430 RWHP. They say I don't need to upgrade for this HP range and I haven't had any fuel related problems ...

if you were going over 500rwhp, i'd say get the gt500 pumps........but for 400rwhp i would just add a 20 amp bap. GT500 pumps are big expense that just aren't necessary at the power level you are upgrading to. I can tell you first hand, the stock pump with a bap and wiring upgrade supports 480 rwhp with room to spare.........

Adam,

I know you and I have discussed this back and forth via PM's. I'm glad to see some have echoed what I have said about the GT500 pump set up. I feel it's the best choice, however not the cheapest. Like everything else we discuss on here, everyone will have an opinion. None are wrong, it's just a matter of preference. Let me know if you decide to go the GT500 route and maybe I'll go ahead and order the intercooelr upgrade kit for my Whipple and sell you the GT500 pumps out of the kit. Good luck in whatever you decide.

anything over 425HP you need the GT500 fuel pump. its the best fuel system for the stang.

BAP = dont believe in them, I honestly think they overpower the stock fuel pump, and within time, will make it fail. I'd rather do the fuel pump the first time rather than paying for a replacement down the road.

The BAP makes me nervous. I would much rather just have a beefier fuel pump.
