Unhappy FRPP GTA / Supreme Performance Shelby GT/H mufflers - warranty

I called up Maremont exhaust (apparently they make the Supreme Performance line of mufflers) and they said the GTA mufflers had a 90 day warranty and in addition, T-409 SS isn't as good as T-304 SS when it comes to corrosion resistance. I was considering the GTAs but I'm looking elsewhere.

Yes T-409 SS isn't the caliber of T-304 SS it has a little less nickle for one and heat treated at a different temp! But how long do you plan on owning your currant stang...twenty years!! if its good enough for Carrol Shelby! its good enough for me!!....

My T-bird is about 26 years old (build date of October 1980) and I'm not sure how much more it can handle.

For the Mustang, I'd like at least 10 years out of the SS exhaust system because of our climate. I see Shelby using the conical K&N-style filter, which has been shown to be less effective in filtering out small particles out in the field. I plan to keep the stock airbox/intake assembly for maximum engine longevity.

As soon as they come out with a new Terminator Cobra...I think my GTA's will lat at least 10 years...

But I mean common....the stocker exhaust isnt even stainless steel, why are you worrying about a lower grade SS rusting? I'd be more worried about the stock exhaust.

I have the GTA mufflers far superior to the stock GT's..the weld points are better executed for one! and about a third the weight, far less exhaust restriction and the sound is great! oiled gauze filtration verses the factory 1 inch thick waffle filtration... sure there will be more fine particulate transfer with coned oiled gauze! but a heck of a lot more air too! thats the small trade off! for the horse power increase ! your trying to compare apples and oranges here! two different forms of air filtration for two different purposes.. engines longevity or engine performance...
