FRPP/Borla Stingers

I just put some FRPP Borla stingers on the car yesterday. I had heard a lot of people on the forums suggest to get the Borla Stingers instead of the FRPP/Borla Stingers due to the FRPP had 3.5 inch tips and the Borla had 4 inch tips. Well, I took a tape measure and measured the tips because they looked big and on the box it stated 3.5 inches to find that these tips are actually 4 inch 0.D. but due to them being rolled to the inside the I.D. is 3.5 inches at the very edge. I just wanted to put this info out there to save you all some money if the tip size was a deciding factor between the two. They are both exactly the same other than on the Borla version they are stamped with Borla on the tips and mufflers instead of Ford Racing. Save yourself a $150 and get the Ford Racing.

I don't know where you heard otherwise to think they were different?
There was a printing error in literature

... I know on this site a long time ago people mentioned they were exactly the same... down to the part numbers. the only thing changed was the stamping.

I even emailed Borla earlier this year and they stated that they are essentially the same muffler except for some stamping differences

Some FRPP mufflers have been packaged in Borla boxes.

My bad. Maybe it was Stangnet I saw someone post just a couple days ago telling someone the tips were different. Anyway, I love the exhaust. Just got back from the muffler shop having them tweek them so they would be even. Had to heat one of the hangers and bend it slightly but they sit perfect even now.

Does anyone have any idea if the frpp stingers provide any HP gain as advertised by Ford Racing ?? If they don't, I'll just stick with my stock axle backs..I'm more concerned about power than a louder exhaust at this point..

It's pretty negligible really. MM&FF did a shootout a year ago, and they claimed a 5hp gain in the lower rpm range, none at peak. Go for the sound and the nice tips

That's what I thought ? I just wasn't sure so even if their only good for just an additional 5 hp. ? it's better than nothing at all.. plus they improve both the apperance and sound, so I'll end up including them as my next mod, after the Frpp delete plates..Anyway ? thanks for all your input and support Tony..

extra Hp or not, they are totally worth it for the sound alone.
