Just received my FRPP M-5230-5GT exhaust kit, still in the box.

On the outside of the box, it shows a manufacturing date of FEB 2005. Obviously a year old stock unit, no big deal, but I'm wondering if there has been any changes to this kit (hanger locators, etc.)?

Have you all noticed what date was stamped on your shipping box?

Mine shipped on tuesday and should be here today. Are they the canister shaped mufflers like the stingers?

It better be! (Still in the box)

The M-5260-5GT is the round canister 'Stinger' model with 4" rolled tips, 49 state legal... the loud ones!

49 state legal, hmmm let me guess, there not legal in California right. You don't want to look at them or check to see if they are the right ones. That box is gonna be in pieces when I get it!!!

Yup, Cali is right! Noise dB law. But, as you see, I'm gonna live on the edge and risk getting pulled over by the 5-O

Box isn't at my house (at my in-laws), otherwise I would've opened it. Hoping to install it on Sunday.

Note your mfg date on your box when it arrives before you shred it to pieces.

I was going to do the install this afternoon.

Until I saw this when I opened the box...

Those idiots sent me the Q model!

Talk about being fuming mad.

Part number on sticker on top of box before opening... I was in heaven.

After the fact... I saw the sticker on the bottom of the box...

I can't believe 1/2 the box was misidentified, even my receipt showed the correct M-5230-5GT.

I'm mad, but there's nothing I can do but to call them for a return.
Sometimes, mail orders aren't worth the extra $40 in savings.

Downs Ford will take car of this issue.
Will send me out the right ones (Stingers) and pay for return shipping of the wrong ones.

Parts Manager was surprised that FRPP put 2 different part number decals on each side of the box!

Manager said that he'll have to open up all in stock to verify part numbers so this doesn't happen again.

+1 kudos for Downs Ford for trying to make things right.

I'm about to pull the triger on the 5230-5GT's, but a couple of vendors selling them list the tips as being 3.5", instead of 4"...I'm confused. I thought they were all 4"?

The 5230-5GT have a 4" tip. FRPP website is incorrect in stating that it has a 3.5" tip. That's where your misinformed vendors are getting their information.

Let us know if they made a boo boo.
And just for trivial sakes, post your (muffler) mfg date that's on the box.

Good luck!
