Just installed my FRPP 62mm throttle body.

Mostly eye candy but so far the throttle response and idle is very smooth.

Looks much better than the OEM TB!

Did you guys using this throttle body need a tune or is it a swap out and no tune needed?

You'll need a tune.

Documentation clearly calls for a tune. I already had a tune for Charge Motion Delete Plates and I did go through the process for re-learning the idle. The throttle response has been fine. At this point I do not know if a tune would make a difference.

It's four bolts. It's the easiest install ever.

Looks awesome! Is there a big difference between this throttle body and the BBK one that's a couple hundred dollars cheaper? I'd like to invest in one eventually as well.

I had the BBK and it ran fine until I got my Vortech and then it started giving me all kinds of problems, throwing my car into fail-safe mode regularly. It was jacked up. A lot of people have had a bad experience with the BBK.

Mine was fine, the idle was kinda high in the AM when It would first start but once it warmed up it was fine. After I installed the Steeda delete plates it seemed to idle higher than normal. Could have been the tune difference. Overall I can't complain about the BBK. I am hoping to invest in the FRPP manifold in the future as well. My long tubes are going on in the next few weeks so I kinda wanted the most HP Gains as possible.

Dang, I was going to put my BBK TB on tonight but I decided to update my SCT tuner first. The SCT bricked itself in the update process. Fortunately I went back to stock tune first so I'm not stuck with a broken car. I hadn't planned on reverting mods to get it to run without a tune tonight. Well at least it'll get me to and from work

That sucks! What can you do? The tuner can't be fixed?

I'm going back and forth with SCT. I posted a ticket last night and they got back to me first thing this morning. When I get home I'm going to call and have a technician remote to my computer to try and fix the device. They have special tools to diagnose/fix that they can use remotely.

I'm glad to see a quick response from their tech support, hopefully they can get the device fixed. I have my K&N intake in there without the extra support bracket so it's clunking on every bump. I did it quickly because it should only need to hold up for 10 miles total.

Got the tuner squared away, and the BBK throttle body on. I don't know how much power is actually gained but the throttle response is a lot of fun. I gave it a good cleaning before putting it on and removed bit of build up - maybe that's what caused your idle start issue. I haven't tried it with a cold engine though, so it might spike in that case. I'll see tomorrow morning.

Yeah the throttle response puts a smile on your face. Yeah I noticed it needed to be cleaned a little. I didn't have any solvent to clean it with so I just wiped it down a little. I hope it wasn't too bad. I hope you enjoy it.

And BTW, the cold idle on the FRPP is fast as well so I don't think it was the BBK at all. I think it's the Steeda Delete plates in combination with the tune.

It's the tune. Call and they'll adjust it. I didn't have a high idle with either.
