FRPP 5230-GTA Mufflers On

I got the FRPP 5230-GTA/GT-H mufflers on and they're great. But, now I have two Ford accessory chrome extension tips I had on my stock mufflers. Don't need them now. If anybody wants them PM me.

Took my 30 minutes to install mine, off came set number 2. JBA axle back.

NOW I have 2 AB systems in my house with #3 on the car.

Like the sound better and 4" tips look btter then the 3.5" I had on there.

Best $263 spent to date.

sound like me, I had the bassani with xpipe, and off road cats, then the borlas, now these on order. Hoping for louder than stock with no drone is the rumor. Hope it is true.

Yep, it's true. They're too quiet for me, only slightly louder than stock though, so I'm going to switch back to my Flowmasters.

Only a small increase in sound from stock. But nice thing, NO drone at all.Keeper for me.They get slightly deeper after a few hundred miles on them.
If any of you are looking for something louder,I've still got a set of IMCO Extreme axle-backs I'll not be using again. 3 days & approx. 60 miles on them.

Hey whats wrong with IMCOs? I thought you people wanted louder? Its like listening to your own Highland charging bag pipe regiment belting out a V8 tune in 4.6 I think they are awesome, all they need is to dynomat the back shelf

The Ford GTA kit is 50 state legal, IMCO'S are Illegal in WA.

Cool

How are they are illegal, they are a muffler? I think a law stipulates that you have to have a muffler, but not what kind of muffler. I think only Calif stipulates that it cannot be louder than 85 or 92 dB on driveby noise, which I doubt cop would have a decibel meter, but you can go to a special inspection station and get it certified, so that's why the Ford racing can style exhaust is 49-state legal, because they aren't so confident that it would pass the driveby exhaust noise but still . You can always say to the cop "Crawl beatch and scope it out yourself: a muffler is present, exhibit A" Still, I don't think these would pass the drive by, since they sound like a late summer rolling thunder one chamber flowmaster...

50Bomber,
What type of dynomat did you end up using? There are several types & when you say rear shelf,do you mean the trunk floor?
Did like the sound of the IMCO's, but the drone was too much for me for an everyday driver. Have the Extremes myself, same as whatyou have or did you get the other flavor?

Cool

aircare84,
I went with dynomat extreme for the rear shelf and the space just above the mufflers. My mufflers are also the extreme type (I guess I am just an Extreme Man ) For the restof the trunk floor and wall, I just used Duplicolor Undercoating/Soundproofing spray in a can, which has helped quite a bit, they sound a lot more mellow now and not quite as raw, but still mean as hell . Contrary, to what everybody is reporting, I felt a slight increase in HP from installatio of these mufflers, not much, but a slight increase as opposed to a big torque hit from taking off mufflers and running straight pipes (not that is a sweet WOT sound)

50bomber,
Did that reduce the drone by a large margin,or just take the edge off it? Woundn't mind being able to put the IMCO's on again, but enjoy the current no drone Ihave now.
Thanks for your comments.

Were you refering to the stock mufflers droning or the IMCOs?

well the tips make them worth it. Look awesome. Little louder not much than stock. Throw on an xpipe, and some headers and its probably perfect. We will see in the future.

The IMCO's. Stock had no noticable drone to me,neither do the FRPP GTA's
