Ford x-pipe and Supreme GTAs
#2
I added the Ford X-pipe after driving a couple of hundred miles on the Supremes. What I noticed in terms of sound was that the the exhaust was a bit louder and slightly higher pitched overall. I can now really feel the exhaust system rumble through my feet. The exhaust is smoother during both idle and under load, a more continuous flow sound rather that the "motorboat" or gurgling sound previously.
Acceleration is more forceful, but also smoother. Adding the X-pipe seemed to diminish the gas pedal lag and with my auto transmission, I am surprise how the transmission more quickly and fluidly moves through the gears now.
Very pleased that I installed it and find it and the axlebacks well worth the cost and effort to install.

Agreed with Kryten. I don't have the Supremes but I do have FRPP/Borla Stingers and I went from the stock H to the FRPP X. Everything Kryten mentioned about acceleration and such is the same for me. My S/C seems smoother as well.
As far as sound, it didn't change the sound of the stingers at all, just "enhanced" it IMO. I made a video of before and after my X instalkl and as you hear in the video there is a slight difference but really noticable by most. I notice because I am in the car everyday but overall it shouldn't drastically change your sound.

I guess its worth taking a shot as I am not really impressed with that gurgling sound at idle.It just doesn't sound right to me and for $109 its worth trying. Thanks for the input!

I've heard the X-pipe adds 4-5HP. Based on my perception, I think that sounds about right. I was a bit worried when I cut off the stock H-pipe, but man I am glad it's gone. Gone is the gurgling sound, choppy AUTO shifting, and hesitation with the H-pipe. No concern about or desire to put the ol H-pipe back on here.

I got mine from Ninosport for $265.95 shipped. You have to enter TMS.com at the end of the ordering process to get that price. (5% discount) But beware, the ends of the tips were dinged in 4 spots on my mufflers probably from the shipping. They were packed very lightly.

I want the Supreme's and I like the idea of getting rid of the "motor boat" and potentially adding a couple of horses but I don't want higher pitched, I'm looking for lower/deeper and since the X involves cutting, going back is not easy. I'm torn.
