Ford Racing / Bullitt cold air kit
All depends on what you are trying to achieve. But you really need to consider a new tune when installing any CAI to not only ensure you do not end up running too lean and damaging your engine, but to also maximize the HP potential. Here is a link to the expected HP gains with this CAI and along with a tune from a shop like Bama. Tillman also has some proven tunes for this set-up as well.

These are the best option when you want to maintain a more stock look, but for maximized HP there are other CAIs and tunes that out-perform this set-up including Steeda and C&L.

I thought $220 was a great deal since the best price I could find was about $430 without the ProCal tuner, and that was for the Bullitt version. I did'nt want the silencer/resonators, plus the pre-painted Ford racing logo looks cool, so the FRPP was my choice. Here are the main reasons I like the FRPP CAI:
1. you can choose your own tune ie Tillman, Bama and I've heard these are the go-to guys particularly if you have an automatic trans.
2. The OEM Ford design is very good, it looks and fits like it belongs on the engine and in the Mustang. No makeshift, universal fit here.
3. The underhood temps with the mod-motor are horendously high and the ability to extract outside (relatively colder) air is a bonus.
4. all dyno tests or simulations done on this intake do not account for the even colder moving air when the car is at speed.
5. lastly my car is a cruiser - I don't race so those last 5-7 HP at 6000rpm are not needed, plus the low-mid range HP and torque with this set up and the right tune is really pretty good.

Good going, you'll like it. Diversified Products shipped UPS quickly and the parts were all packaged well. I checked before my purchase but I was still very pleased that they included the misc hardware too. (see my pics in this thread from the kitchen table- LOL) For example the front stud piece, and that large black grommet. I have see a bunch of Bullitt intakes that were installed without those parts and they look good, but I'm just very picky.

If am not mistaken, the non-FRPP Bullitt intakes came with silencers on the intake tube as do the ones you get from KC. Check out this thread, especially post #22 that shows the pictures of the "silencers".

Roger that. the adjuster sure lines up with that grommet hole...
Wonder if anyone has made that hole larger and routed flexible duct from there to the lower grill? Although I'm not sure if that additional air flow at speed would help or interfere with the normal inlet flow from under the hood lip into the filter bucket.

See if this workshttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Musta...1%7C240%3A1318
Blue Oval Industries has them on sale right now for $209. I know that some folks have experienced less than positive experiences with them, but still a good deal.

First let me state that we're not here to "Steal" from this site. On this thread I noticed Clevinger is not an FRPP dealer. If we are stepping on anyones toes we apologize. I've had email conversations with a few members and thought this site might be an interesting site to join. We're banned from shelbyautos.com until 2024 for calling Amy from SAI out on a statement. If there's someone reading this and wants to send us the info about becoming an advertiser we'd be happy to consider it. We've tried some sites without success. We'll see how this goes. Thank you.
