FORD RACING 3V 4.6 INTAKE MANIFOLD

I know there was a topic about this manifold but it wasn't out yet.
So has anyone tried this? Is it better than the C&L one performance wise?

What little I read at the FRPP site,(I think) it says it really needs the FRPP camse and ported heads etc to get the FULL benifeit. So I wonder what is less than FULL?

EDIT: Yeah it does look Kool for sure. I'd have to get rid of my Shaker hood though.

Ford also recommends going to a twin 62 MM throttle body, with your intended set up if you spring for the manifold.

What gets me about Ford posted gains with this intake is on a 320 CI stroker engine with throttle body. Was it also running cams and heads? They say in nets 40 HP. I would think I could get that much with a just from 40 more cubes. Maybe I'm wrong. What do others think?

Don't trust vendors' claims. Too easy to manipulate a few extra horses on a dyno or not disclose all the mods that contributed to the alleged gains. I put the JPC intake manifold on top of my 302stroker not for a single horsepower gain. It's a gas mixture management system which the stock intake manifold does a lousy job at, at high boost (uneven distribution of gases per cylinder)

Intake on top of motor. Back in car now.

Honestly one of the main reasons for the Intake Manifold or any intake manifold for that matter is Looks and I do like the FRPP one..... And if I can pick up a few ponies in the process....

Maybe it's not out yet because they haven't had enough orders? Who knows?!

No offense.......maybe at your power level it's all about looks. Pushing 22 lbs of boost on the last motor, we discovered that the stock intake manifold was not distributing gases evenly between cylinders....some were rich...some lean, although the a/f ratio showed very safe. That contributed (not sole factor) to the motor letting go.

On this build with anticipated boost of 25-27 lbs, the intake manifold is a critical component. Sure if it looks nice, that's a bonus, but for our application functionality rules. In addition to the JPC, we have also installed exhaust gas sensors for each cylinder to monitor during dynotuning.

No offense taken and w/ a setup like yours I can completely understand but on a N/A like mine the gas distribution isn't such huge problem

I agree but it's so ironic. There is a misconception about having a built motor. Many figure...going to build my motor and everything will be OK. Often not the case. The temptation and often the goal is to push the built motor to the max with high boost etc and you are right back on the ragged edge...if not worse. I know of way more major failures with built motors than those with stockers. That pretty JPC IM better do its job....lol

I am going to visit the car wednesday (100 miles away where it stays at the speed shop) and also look at the backup stroker motor. It's insane...not sure which smilie is the most applicable to what I am doing.
