Flowmasters
Do you have the flowmasters. I had a set of 50's on my 66 and loved the way they sounded, although they were a little much on the highway, especially with the top up. I am considering these for my 06 convertible, How bad is the drone on the 05-06?

Not bad, specially when cruising. I would go as far as saying they are pleasant and not as loud as I expected. The drone is evident if the car is under geared and gas is given without downshifting.

I installed my Flowmasters a week ago today, and have been pleased with them.
The question of droning and loudness seems to come up a lot, so I have paid special attention this week to how they sound at different speeds.
My car has the 5-speed automatic. Setting the cruise at 45 to 60, you have a little drone at cruise and it picks up a little if it is accelerating lightly up a hill or something. At 65 to 80, I almost can not even hear the exhaust at all at cruise or unless you hit the accelerator. Getting over 80, especially over 90, you start to get a nice roar going, and it sounds good.
The only place I notice excessive droning is if I am doing 40-55 MPH, particularly about 45-50, and accelerate just enough to get up to 1500-1800 RPM, and the exhaust has a drone that makes itself known to you and anyone nearby.
This exhaust is never "loud" in the sense of making a bunch of noise and racket, but it is loud in the way of low frequency sounds.
I love the sound of the exhaust. It has been better than I had thought it would be. I would definately recommend these.

Nice write up. Thanks for the info! I'm trying to decide between the JBA and Flows. Anyone out there with JBAs wanna comment about drone?

I resently took a 1K mile trip and have no complaints.
Take a listen as the DK II pulls away from the camera.....

Mine are sitting in the garage waiting for the car (one week to go). I have them sitting on a table and when I stand back and infront and level and look directly at them, the drivers side chrome tip is pointing about 2-4mm to the center or the car (so pointed more inward). The passenger side is dead straight on. Also, when standing directly in front and looking directly down and center on the tip, I see the letter "W" on the drivers side and between the "M" and "A" in the passenger side. Know what I mean? Are yours the same? Will the drivers side come out straight when I install it? I don't have pics right now but can post if needed.

Installed mine last night. Haven't driven it yet, at idle I like it. Never thought a pair of mufflers could be a bigger pain than a shifter or springs. Getting to some of those bolts when bolting up the Flowmasters was a bear and getting the alignment equal. The passengers side can be done without removing the rear hanger, just loosened it a little. With the midpipe loose I bet they both can swapped without removing the rear hanger. My letters are off a little too, but tucked up under the rearend it doesn't show that much.

Spintechs all the way. Big Muscle car sound. I just dont know how to load sound clips so you all can hear how amazing the sound is. Plus the looks are incredible. Way better than Flowmaster

Hey 300HPGT,
email me the soundclip, I'll be more than happy to post it for you.
From Their Site: SPINTECH has just "Unleashed" its all new Stainless steel X-Pipe and axle back system. This is the most aggressive sounding Mustang system ever. It produces over 20 rear wheel horse power and plenty of torque. "You ain't heard nothing yet!" Axle back systems sell for $385.95 and complete X-pipe with axle back systems sell for $699.95.
That's pricey. Definitely would like to hear the sound clip on this one. Aside from the gains their X-pipe gives (proven?), I've yet to find one that produces a sound I like. All sound raspy, regardless of the axle backs that are on. Of course it's 100% a matter of what a person wants their car to sound like. I'm looking strictly for the deep rumble of a muscle car and not just loud. I personnaly will like more hps through other means vs having a sound that I don't like. It's all a matter of sound taste.
