I just called ELD performance in Crofton, MD to get a quote on the new flowmasters. He couldn't find a price on them but said he was going to call some places on Monday for me. As soon as he finds them for a decent price I will probably have them installed (I had a set of 40 series on my on 2000 and had no complaints). I was just wondering if anyone has had them installed. Once I get them welded on I'll be sure to update everyone. I'll be out of town until Thursday next week so it will be Saturday at the earliest.

they sound good, but they are dyno proven to lose horsepower!

Is this true even with their new mufflers designed specifically for the 05 Mustang?

As far as I know, that is with the new muffler design.

If it is true, I guess it's back to Bassani for me. How can they be the only ones to LOSE hp?

I this a graph out there somewhere that actually proves this loss in horsepower?

I don't know how, but I did see a dynograph on one of the other message forums. I have been trying to locate it, but haven't been able to so far. As soon as I do, I will post it though.

I was just reading Flowmasters site and came across this...
2005 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L, V8, American Thunder (Back Half) System, specially designed 5" x 10 " Mufflers, which provide minimal interior resonance while delivering a deep and aggressive tone. Through our testing of these mufflers have shown noticeable horsepower and torque gain.
It's only text so I'll take it for what its worth, but I'm with 2005MustangGT. I'll trade a couple ponies for a killer exhaust note.

I still love my exhaust set-up
Stainless Works 1 3/4" Longtubes, BBR X-pipe, MagnaPack Mufflers w/ side exit Exhaust.
should sound intense... car sounded wicked before w/out the longtubes!, should sound 100x better

Quick question, whith the touchiness of the new computer, am I going to need a tune with these new mufflers?

No tune needed after adding mufflers but I did reset the computer.
After I installed my Magnaflows I noticed the car was running odd. It seemed to have less power at takeoff, so I took the battery cable off for about 20 mins. and started it and let it idle for about 10 mins.
After that it was back to leaving a trail of two black lines and the sound was great.

Ok, I ordered my Flowmasters today! They should be here in 5-7 days. My girlfriend is visiting next weekend so I have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. I will come back with an update when they are installed.
