I will take tom281 for a ride after our tuning session if there is no snow on the ground so I can get his opinion on the sound.

Well guys, I witnessed this car and got about a 10 minute ride in it this morning before our tuning session. For what it's worth, here is my opinion:

Car seemed fairly loud outside; noticeably louder than my Bassani exhaust with the stock H on. Sound quality outside the car was, in my opinion, ok. Sounds very much like an old muscle car should. I say "ok" just because that's not the exact sound that I like. However if you want a louder (not SUPER loud) exhaust that sounds rumbly and like an old V8, you will be happy with it. Sounds similar to the Mustang from Bullitt (I just bought the new release version and watched it again last weekend) only slightly higher pitched. Loud, but not "get pulled over" or "get pissed neighbors" loud.

What I was really impressed with was how the car sounded on the inside. Very little or no drone, no echo, no rattles, and not loud by anymeans. In fact, I had trouble concentrating on the sound because Brent and I were talking, and we could easily hear each other; that's when I noticed that it wasn't earth-shaking loud inside. Not obnoxious at all. As quiet as stock? NO; but you don't want that do you?? Overall, I was very surprised at how it sounded inside the car and I would be very happy with it if I had the combo.

Conclusion: I you like Flowmaster exhausts but are worried that adding a midpipe is going to make it sound like crap, your worries are over. This is a cool combination and you can't beat the price. I myself am looking forward to adding this H pipe to my Bassani kit; I think it will give me exactly what I'm looking for: same deep tone, just more of it!! I would have ordered one on the spot, if I hadn't had Brent do the extensive dyno tuning session, which I'll start a new post on.

Thanks SO much Tom281! This is EXACTLY what I'm wanting. Old muscle car V8 sound outside, loud, but not pull me over loud, and quite enough on the inside to be able to take long road trips without my ears ringing when I'm done.

Can't wait to see what they sound like with my JBA's. I think the construction of the JBA's and Flows are similar, with the JBA's being a little quiter, so I think I'll be pleased. I'll put up a video when I have it on.

Love than video, sounds awesome!
I was at my g/f house this evening and seen the nice big box from Brent marked FLOWMASTER.
She got them in 2 days, but I have to wait til Xmas before she will hand them over. Being that shes in the same state makes sense now on the quick delivery.

I was just messing with Google earth, Is this your location? Great roads for testing stuff on I would imagine.

You've probably read me long post on your thread by now, it tells how they are at different settings. But for everyone else reading this thread, overall, with the JBA's: louder and much hollower sounding, maybe a little raspy, but still deep enough for my taste, but not as deep as before. Hardly any burbling at all, and so far it appears there are no exhaust leaks. Definitely sounds like the car is breathing better. Feels like it lost a little bit in the low end, but upper RPM's just WAIL and hopefully an overall gain. I'm comforted by Brent's dyno chart showing a gain across the board, but looking forward to getting mine back on Walker's dyno to see. Took it for a 50 mile run down the interstate last night, no rattles yet. Putting some dynomat in the trunk today to quite it down just a tad.

I'll put a video up later today, it's only 7am, so I'll let the neighbors wakeup, ha!
