Flowmaster American Thunder installed

I left it on the ground to install and it was a bear. Very little room to work in as the mufflers really fit snug up under the rear end. It took 2 hours as I am a first timer but it was worth the trouble.

2 hours !!!!! I had never done work on cars other than wiring stereos and misc. 12 volt accesories. It took me 20 minutes top to swap out both mufflers. Just stink the belly in a bit and you get that much more room to work with. LOL!

I put mine in myself and love 'em.
I'd never done it before either it took me a littlke over an hour - the passeneger side, one of the bolts I needed to get to was in an impossible spot with no angle for me to work - took forever to get that thing loose...... once that was done though, it was fairly easy.
Picked mine up locally and got a GREAT price.

Is there and interior drone with the Flowmasters?

Between 1600 and 2100 rpm in high gear (5th or 4th) under moderate to heavy accel load. Either like it, get used to it, or keep the RPMs up.
Some have said a CAI helps eliminate it. I'm still working on getting that.

Hey man, don't worry about how long it took you. The fact is that you did it yourself

Ben - Mike - give 21st Century Exhaust a call (they don't have a website)

They are here local to me but I believe they only charge 25$ for shipping???....
I picked mine up in person and before tax, they were something like $245.
I got the heads-up about them from a previous thread on here many months back.....
[when I saw that HP TV episode and they put the graphic up saying they paid something like just over $400 for the Flowmasters, I almost fell out of my chair laughing..... ]

That's what I figured. So much for wishfull thinking.
Thanks for the info. I'll see how it goes, I can always put the stock mufflers back on for free, if I can't take the drone

I got the JLT intake and it definately drones, lol. I installed the intake before the flowmasters, so I have no before and after experience.

I installed mine about a week ago when I also installed shortened rear springs (cut one coil off the top). I love the sound - reminds me of my former '69 with Series 50 Flows!
Sounds good across the range but did have a drone at about 1600 rpm in top gear. Sounded kinda brassy. A couple days later I installed the Predator 87 Octane tune (on the stock air box) and my drone is now very rumbly - took out all the tinny-ness! Plus the tune perked up the performance a bit.
