I'm in your boat TehSLeeper.

Which of the two (SLP Loudmouth or Flow Master-American Thunder) is louder? I want something that will wake up the neighborhood in the mornings Hehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!

Nick
I really wish there were two people in my area with both so I could tell in person.

They are a lot louder under light acceleration at low RPMs.

Sorry I can't compare with the SLPs because I haven't heard them in person, but, I know I wake up my neighbor every morning!

Any other opinions?
I just had someone tell me they were "too loud" today. It was a female but I didn't there was such a thing as "too loud." Under normal driving they are louder than stock but when you floor it, that's when they really wake up.

I heard an 05 with Flowmasters once, but I don't know if they were the Thunders. Whatever they were, they were not as loud as the Loudmouths (and frankly, I can't imagine any muffler being louder than no muffler. )

Trust me, you will not be dissapointed with the Flowmasters. My parents and my neighbors always know when I'm rolling into my driveway cause its loud. My mom thinks its annoying, but I always get that comment from my dad, "I knew you were coming home cause I could hear you up the friggen street....." LOL

I've got the American Thunders and I have driven all summer with the windows down and the AC on just so that I could listen to that deep throaty rumble when I down shift. Yeah, I know it sounds dumb, but it's sweet music to my ears.

How's the drone with flowmasters? Minimal? I know there was that article written by Flowmaster stating no drone, but that's the real life experience?

There is a little drone under load around 1500-2000 rpm. Its not bad at all...nothing that will rattle your teeth out.

I can't speak to how they sound on the '05/06.... but I've never been more impressed with anything other than Flows. That's what I run on my Bronco, and I've ALWAYS loved the way they sound on the '04 and older Mustangs. I never bought them for my Mustangs, 'cause I just took the mufflers out. But, I always wished I had spent the money on the Flowmasters... even running straight pipes didn't sound as throaty... just didn't sound quite as good.
