Bolted on a set of the Flowmaster axle back mufflers. I went with the 817410's (American Thunder 3-chamber 60-series) rather than the 817460's (American Thunder 2-chamber 40-series). My logic was that I wanted that Flowmaster sound (similar to my old 5.0 notchback) without the drone, without announcing to my neighbors that i've decided to take the car for a drive and without drawing unwanted law enforcement attention to my ride. I love the sound of the 40's ... I just didn't want to be THAT guy in the neighborhood.

The result is mission accomplished. The car has a menacing bass sound at idle which make the car sound like it has aftermarket cams (I can only imagine how it would sound with a set of FRPP hot cams). From the inside of the car it almost sounds quieter because of the lower frequency of the sounds. Stomp the throttle and it opens up with classic V8 music and is noticeably louder than stock ... No rasp no trumpeting. Back off the fun peddle while in gear and you get a symphony of deceleration rumble without raspy snap crackle and pops. The best part is that there is no drone and no annoying resonance. I tried to create conditions for drone with different gears under load at rpm's from 1500-2500. I'm a big fan of the way these sound. However, if you are looking for a ground shaking difference from stock, then I suggest going with the 817460 instead.

 

with what you did. I think that the 817460 will served you with your preference. Good choice dude.

Did you use the SS hangers from AM or just the stock hangers?

Now that I've had them for about six weeks, I've gotten too used to the sound. Thinking about adding an x-pipe to pump up the volume. Might go with the 40 series if I had to do I again, not sure.
