First time at the track....
#1
Well I went to the Richmond dragway but unfortunetly it got rained out last night. I ended up driving up north to stay with my folks and went to the Colonial Beach 1/8th mile track this morning. I really wanted to hit the 1/4 mile track in Richmond but oh well. Needless to say it was alot of fun and my best times were as follows:
1/8th mile- 8.57
60 ft- 1.99
reaction time- .587
I couldn't launch it over about 2k rpm without getting crazy wheel hop but definetly want to start working on the suspension next. My pops ran his new C6 and couldn't get better than 8.7, so I had some bragging rights with him for awhile. I think in the 1/4 that he would have reeled me in though....
Here is a link to my video of my best run. Check out the stang I run against...very modified and I give him a run for his money

I havn't had the stock tires/gears for sometime, but a good place to start would prolly be between 1800-2000 rpm. See how your car reacts and adjust from there. Start out by letting your clutch out at about the same rate you give her throttle. Try to find a place where you can practice. If you can't find a good private place, use the "test & tune" to practice at the local drag strip.

Thanks guys....I can't wait to hit the quarter mile soon. Does anyone know what a 8.57 would equate to in the quarter??

with the mods u have, i would guarantee its less than 13.2. probly around 13 flat or high 12s.
i have sim mods but fewer of them and my best 1/8 was 8.63, which equated to 13.26 in the quarter at 106.7

That 8.21 is roughly 12.8/12.9. I consistantly run 12.9's for dial-in and when they have 1.8th mile nights, I dial-in 13.2. They have 1/8th mile nights so the rail cars can run.
You did cook him off the line! Nice run.

Wow. Impressive run... He definitely had you on the top end, but you had an awesome launch.
Keep it up!
