First time ever at the track.

I went to the track yesterday. It was the first time I have ever raced in my 42 years. I loved it. Made 10 passes, the first few were in the 14's. I spun the tires bad and had wheel hop in 1st and 2nd. I started working on my launches and got better. My best three were:

RT: 1.008
60': 2.2599
330': 5.9214
1/8: 8.8541
1/4: 13.4514
MPH: 107.53

RT: .9008
60': 2.1537
330': 5.8542
1/8: 8.8234
1/4: 13.4567
MPH: 106.81

RT: .7434
60': 2.1530
330': 5.8584
1/8: 8.8701
1/4: 13.5313
MPH: 106.46

I was hoping to get into the mid 13's and by the end of the day I was getting pretty consistent. I think this may be the best I can do with stock tires. I may get some upper control arms because I still had some wheel hop with the Steeda LCA's.

Anyway, let me know if these are good numbers with my mods and I appreciate any advice on going quicker/faster.

Those are good times, congrats! Your mph shows a 12 second car if you get traction. I plan on getting some ET Streets; you may want to consider them if you plan on going to the track alot.

Thanks, I'm thinking about getting some tires. Does anyone make a 15" or 16" wheel for the rears on our cars?

The stock 16" V6 wheel may fit on the rears, I'm not sure. Most people that I know run the stock 17" wheel with 26x11.5x17 tires. This is what I'm going to do...... I want to find an extra pair of stock 17" bullets, get Mickey Thompson ET streets in that size, and go tear it up!

You can get those tires from Summit Racing for like $175 each, and hopefully find a set of Bullits on Ebay for cheap.

Nice times man! I'm hoping to go to the strip sometime soon too as I have not raced yet either. How did the Hurst do at shifting at the track? I have one also and have heard it will shut you out of third at wot.

I didn't notice anything going into 3rd. I did miss 2nd once and hit the rev limiter but I don't know why I missed it. I was trying so hard trying to keep from spinning the tires that I forgot to speed shift. I am having trouble getting used to keeping the gas on while I push in the clutch. I did it a few times at lower rpm's to practice but when I get on the track at wot I just forgot. I have read the problems that some people have had with the hurst but I like it, but I'm not an experienced drag racer.

Of those two versions, everybody tells me to get the non-radial version. FWIW.
