First mod in quite a while...

... just ordered BULLITT Mufflers.

Will be taking off the Pypes Mid-muffler system and stock H, will be going back to the OR-H and pairing it up w/ the BULLITT mufflers. Looking for that extra OR pipe H.P. bump and will be putting on UDPs and CMDPs that have been sitting in the garage for over a year now.

Can't wait to get out to the track this summer. Hopefully gas prices will come down enough where I can justify driving out there (it's a haul), and blowing a full tank in an afternoon.

John,
Should sound great
Running GTA's with a off-road H & long tubes on mine. If I remember, the Bullitt mufflers were similar to the GTA's.
Didn't you buy my Pypes mid-muffler system? It was too much with the long tubes & off-road H. Still was the best-sounding setup with the stock cats & H-pipe.

Yup on all counts.

From what I've read, the Bullitt mufflers are the GTA's w/ different tips, called the GTB's.

I had the MM system setup w/ the OR-H for about 2 days and it was just too loud for anything other than a track car. Put the stock H back on. It sounds fantastic, but I do want that extra H.P. bump w/ the OR-H and I've gotta tell ya, I miss the smell of off-road exhaust.

How many miles were on that MM system when I bough it anyways, do you remember?

FWIW, the Ford engineer says the GTB's are completely different from the GTA's:

The system is retuned (within the existing package) from front to back. Aside from the tips, there is no way to tell what has changed beyond looking at part numbers. The h-pipe is modified internally as are the mufflers (completely different design on the inside). The exhaust tips were designed to work with the rest of the exhaust changes and were critical to delivering this sound (though the basic sound comes from the h-pipe and muffler redesign).

Good to know. That's what I thought, but then I started reading about it and came across info stating that they were the same. You know how the internet is. I'm glad that they are different, b/c I really like the Bullitt sound but the GTA's just seem OK to me. Thanks!

What track you going to?

I've got the Pypes MM on mine with everything else stock, though going to install a ProChamber soon. Have the Mac headers as well, but found out my idea with a magnaflow cat in there is unlikely to pass tough Colorado emissions, so will have to wait til next year.

Track ie drag strip... Dragway 42 is a somewhat local place that I try and make it out to.

I'd love to hear that w/ the ProChamber.

The Pypes MM system had 3,550 miles on it when I sent it to you. Chambered muffler is the only option with a O/R H IMO, you'll be pleased. Had a short clip on youtube, but have the L/T headers on mine.
