first 1/4 question about breakage

hey guys i might take my 05 gt 5 speed with cai and hurst shifter to a run whatever you want night with my company. my question is should a stock gt go down the track? what can i expect to break? should i brace anything or even bring a replacement (blank)?

i should note i'm not one to back down from a challange. so i'm afraid this could be the start of a very expensive hobby. its not for a couple of weeks so i have time to think it through and maybe buy the parts.

i don't want to go crazy, just throw my daily driver down a track 3 times.

Your car will be fine making a few passes down the 1/4 mile. Many of us have run dozens or hundreds of runs in our 05+ Mustang GT's without any problems. These cars are built tough.

You won't break a thing, except maybe a sweat if you let it get out from under you a bit.

I didn't start breaking stuff until I got tall drag radials and started launching the car @ 5500rpms. And the only thing I have broken from that was the bushings in my J&M UCA. I have since switched to their extreme UCA and will be getting 4.10's installed with a T/A diff cover hopefully this Wednesday.

If you stay on street tires, or use drag radials and slip the clutch you should be just fine.

Even with ET Streets launching at 6,000rpm's(but then again my track is crap with no prep) I haven't broken a thing.

Must be nice not to break anything at the strip. I'm just so happy when the car can be driven back onto the trailer without using the winch....lol
