Finally got the drag radials

Well, after a "week from he11" at work last week, I actually made it to the track last Friday night... with the MT Drag Radials. Once I got the tire pressure set correctly and my auto trans launch figured out, the M/Ts hooked pretty well (even on the piece-of-poo local temporary track). My average 60' times were about a 1/10 lower than my last two trips to the track, and on one run I got my first sub-2.0 time (1.995 sec). That pass was in the Bracket Race, and I had to hit the brakes hard before the finish line (to avoid possibly breaking out and giving away the race). So, I didn't get a full pass number (it might have been a good one).
But, all in all it was a good night at the track. The car did make it's quickest 1/8mi run ever, 8.702 sec at 80.35mph (which is about 13.46 sec in the 1/4-mi). I also walked away with two more trophies... one for 2nd Place in the ET3 Class, and another for best reaction time of the night, 0.506 (on a 0.500 tree). Results are posted on the RaceLegal.com website... pics should be posted there in the next couple days, too. I also made it to the Semi-Finals of the Bracket Race (where I lost on a redlight... d'oh!).

Don, I don't like your 60' times.. :P What are you leaving at? Are you bogging or breaking the tires loose. You should atleast be in the 1.8's with the M/T's.

I have an auto trans... all I can do is power brake it up to between 2000-2500 rpm.

How about a looser convertor to help those 60`s ?

I considered a different TC, but I've read where higher stall speeds and superchargers aren't really a good combination on the street. And since I'm planning on a SC, I need to be very careful there.

Way to go Don!
Nice!
I have been considering a set of those tires as well - where did you get yours at and how much did you pay??
[just noticed your sig and that you are thinking about the Saleen SC down the road..... I have been rolling that idea around myself as well but it wouldn't be until WAY down the road...]

Nice, cool way to surprise the wife
A looser convertor by a few hundred RMP would help greatly. Adding a B&M supercooler w/intergrated fan in a remote location would be ideal for the extra cooling that would be needed. it can be done without issues..IMO
You'll need a bigger tranny cooler for sure when the blower goes on.

I have all my money tied up in a piece of real estate right now, but once I sell it, I'll be ordering the SC immediately!!

Funny thing is, before I left for the track, my wife said, "Have fun... Bring me home a couple trophies." She was surprised on Saturday morning when I showed them to her. haha

Thanks, Fman... I wondered if anyone had changed out the TC and went with a blower.
Anybody else out there tried it yet?

It sounds like your a good driver that needs to find a good track.

There is a 2nd 1/8-mi track near San Diego (Barona). It has a better surface, but it's at altitude and generally much warmer. One of these days, I'm going to get a chance to run there with good air, and see what happens then. The next chance for me will be on Nov 12, but it is only running during the daylight hours, so I'm not overly optimistic.

No Tony... the closest one is in Fontana (which is 90 miles from my house in North San Diego County).
