It feels like a brand new car

Well, the 4.10's are in, and I feel like a kid in a candy store.
It feels like a new car.
Simply amazing.
I'm glad I didn't go with 3.73's, I don't think the difference would have been as noticable and I would have regretted that choice.
I was worried that I would get a set of FRPP's that are now made by Motive, but no worries, I have the American made.
There's goes my gas mileage for awhile while I get over the desire to constantly play with them.

My 4.10's are sitting in my garage waiting for the girdle. What did the install cost? What gear oil did you use? Thanks

You got that right. Of all the mods that made a difference on my car, the 3 biggest seat of the pants improvements are:

cold air kit and custom tune
4.10 gears
alumininum driveshaft

With each of those (added one at a time over time), it felt like, as you said, a brand new car.

Couldn't agree more about the 4.10's. Had mine installed a couple of weeks ago along with the Detroit Truetrac and the FRPP axle girdle and the get up is just some much better now. It's also great to be able to get on it in 5th now and actually have some pull.

Went with 3.73's for my auto should get them late next week, girdle has to be ordered before I have them installed but I think the install should be between $300-$500.

question about 4.10's. What will my rpms be at 75 mph on the highway? Will I be screaming at 3000-3500?

Nope, you'll be somewhere around 2600rpm I believe.

Thanks bro. I think that it would be a tough choice between 4.10's and 3.90's.

Note two folks I know that got Motive gears (3.90s and 4.10s) both had and still have problems with gear whining. These two are mechanics by the way, and have lots of experience with gears. My two Mustangs have 3.73s and 4.10s--both FRPP brand--and not a hint of whine--and they put them in...

On the CAI and Aluminum DS (big difference here)

I'm still running 3.73's (highway crus'in work car)

A bit off topic but I would have thought your quarter mile times would have been a tad bit lower with your setup. Kinda hot down there in MO??? Were you on street tires or drag radials? Prior to my alumininum driveshaft, removing the heavy subs and amps from the trunk, and the heavy duty clutch, I pulled a 13.3 at 105, but it was freaking cooking here in MD. I'm waiting for a club track rental day at the end of the month where we start runs at 8am, and it's nice and cool. Should be in the 12s finally.

No drag radials.

I wanted to know how fast my car was just the way I drive it to work everyday. Everything in the trunk, spare tire, tools, full tank of gas, etc, etc.

Stock street tires at the time 235/55/17's.

I just like the idea of having a 13.4 sec work car.
