I'm one step from getting the Flowmaster Axle Back system. The drawbacks are those 4" exhaust tips. I dunno, it just seems super large imo. If it wasn't on a muscle car I'd call it fart can status. Is there any way to have them keep the stock tip or a 3" slanted cut tip on the flowmaster axle back? Would this change the sound? You guys know me, I'm not down with large spoilers, black rims, skinny tires, weird tail lights or large exhaust tips. To me these are all pushing rice territory. Lol.

4" tips fit perfect... here are my 4" magnapacks tips:

just don't have them stick all the way out like some people do, that looks stupid.. mine are flush with the bumper...

I first thought that before I put my Bassani's on, but I love them now. Far from rice.

I felt the same way until I saw them on my car. But with the size of the cut outs in the bumper the 4 inch tips look just right. According to Flowmaster the large tips are part of the overall sound of the muffler. I love the sound and look of my Flowmasters and I get a lot complements on them.

+1

Look how they look on the back of my car. They are awesome. This is one of the reasons that I won't switch to Borla. The look of the FLows are awesome IMO.

My Steeda exhaust came with 3.5" tips and I wish they were a little larger. Just seems like 4" tips match the rear bumper better on the 05 and up cars.

I put my Flowmasters on friday. I was not crazy about the size of the tips. The more I see them the more I like them. They do seem to be a good fit for the cut outs on the rear. I also agree with the above post to keep them flush. If they stick out too much, that would look "ricey".

1200custom,

There is little choice on how far the Flowmasters protrude from the valence.... When you install the Flowmasters there is little room for adjustment fore and aft of these mufflers, simply due to the mechanics (cutout keyway slots) ... The biggest issue is getting them centered in the valance cut-outs, this is done further up the car's exhaust system...

I like the fact that they are painted black...

I probably wouldn't want them to be any bigger, but 4" looks good to me. And the sound is very nice, deep and mellow. Not obnoxious at all. Price was right too, $244 + shipping from 21st century exhaust on the East coast of Florida.

You're bursting my bubble dude.
I love the 4" rolled tips. That's the main reason I put them on. Wasn't for performance, that's for sure.
And for my next "mod", I'm waiting on some Black Deep Dish Bulletts, and was planning on the chaser tail lights. I don't think the Black rims on a black car will look "ricey".

Here's a pic of my rear (next to a Saleen just for kicks )

The best looking tips out there by far are the SLP PowerFlow's.
Not only are they the more smooth looking roll, they are the only tips on the market that are cut at the correct angle. Wish they offered them for the LoudMouth's.

4" sounds big, but like everybody said.... they look great and muscular on this car. SLP has the best tips in my opinion.

I don't like the fart car look either. Thankfully, the Flows look perfect on the Mustang due to the size of the factory cut out. Add me to the happy column!

Me too. They look huge when you first open the box, and I was a little apprehensive, but they really are a perfect size on the car.
