Exhaust system dilemma...
I am in a pickle. I don't know what kind of exhaust I want.
I know what the difference is between axlebacks and catbacks but I still don't know which one I should get. Any help here?
For the axlebacks, Im torn between the: SLP Loudmouths, Hooker StreetForce, Cherry Bombs or the Flowmaster A/Ts.
And for the catback systems, I like the: SLP Loudmouths, Magnaflow Magnapacks, and the Borla system.
I heard the video and audio clips on Ninosport but they all sound the same to me. Is there anyone who has any of these installed on their Mustangs and willing to let me know what they sound like?

On the s197 platform, there is no benefit to getting a catback over and axleback.
If you go to brenspeed.com, they have a media section with lots of different set ups.

I have the flowmaster setup (from Summit Racing about 1 yr ago for about 275). And personnally I really like them. They dont sound like the old flowmasters of old, but sound really good.
I have heard the muffler set up on the Steeda mustangs, and that sounds really good as well.
the SLP's are a little "poppy and crackly" for me but alot of people like that.
Regular Magnaflows are quieter than stock in my opinion. heard them up close and on take off several times. Have not heard the Magnapacks which are supposed to be louder.
I have heard the MAC axle back as well. that to me sounds really good. I would have got those but my wife did not want a really droning sound, and the MACs I had before really droned. I didnt really care about the drone, they sounded so good.
there are some good exhaust vids on you tube and on streetfire.net maybe those will help you make your decision. Good luck.

I have the Pypes Mid-Muffler setup coming in soon...it sounds awesome from what I've heard...100 times better than any axle-back you could wish for. I wish I just waited for that before I went out and bought $600 Bassanis.

Whats the best brand of exhaust? I know Borla is highly recommended no matter who you talk to, but what axleback sounds the best on the Mustang? I have heard stories saying the SLP Loudmouth axleback is the best bang for the buck. Is this true?

This may be the hot new system. If not the Ford Racing X pipe with GTA mufflers is a nice setup!

I've got the Loudmouth on my '06 and love them. Going to add a little sound deadening insulation to take care of some of the road noise, should also take care of the exhaust noise at cruising speed. The are indeed loud when you get on it, cruising is slightly louder than stock with all the other exhaust pieces being stock.
No I'm not worried about what the neighbors think, they can move it it is too loud for them. Especially after they set their fireworks off right behind the both of my cars hitting them with the fireworks and associated fallout.

Where do you get the GTA's from? Anyone have a link?
To be honest, I love the stock exhaust so far, but it's a little to low. I want something louder but nothing that will annoy me at highway speeds.

That is a pretty accurate representation of what they sound like.
