Exhaust smell @ idle

So yesterday I am sitting at a light and smell something that is kinda like melted crayons.

It only happens when the car is sitting and idling for a few minutes.
It seems to running fine No noises, No hesitation, Just a burning smell.

Also I noticed in the morning when it was cold. The puffy smoke when it first starts and goes away once the car is warm seemd to linger.

I have a JLT w/ Dougs 91 Torque in it.
Also Flow Master At's. ( 1 which may be leaking at the AB connection) **** thos clamps.

I had a really bad smell similar to what you describe... and it went on for a couple days and I decided I would jack the car up and checkit out....

Well I found the source of the problem and it turned out to be a black plastic bag that I drove over, got stuck on my exhaust just in front of the xpipe and had melted to it.

After a couple weeks the smell went away.

I hate plastic bags.

I was going to suggest checking for a plastic bag, too. A Wal-Mart bag blew in front of my '03 GT but never came out the back and then I started smelling the burnt plastic. I removed what was left of it when I went under the car the next time.

Glad you found it! It might still smell for awhile until it all burns away.
