exhaust clips
Flowmaster's sound clips are generic for the line of mufflers. They don't have an application designed for the 05 GT yet.
If I wanted to lose a couple of horsepower, I could put my FlowMaster Super40's back on, but I don't want to trade horsepower, no matter how cool the Super40's sounded.

One dude has 3" pipes. So whats a quater of an inch gonna do? What do you mean to big? pipes could never be to big it just halps the exhaust relese from the car faster equaling more hp. Mufflers resist the flow thats where you loose hp. You just have to find the right mufflers for the car.
voidedwarranties-
You are wrong in that matter. Exhaust systems are tuned, it isn't just about straight airflow. There are pulses and wave forms, like an instrument.
http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Miscella...austtheory.htm
Note that he talks about a 3.5" exhaust with a 250-350hp car. That's a SINGLE exhaust. If you do the math, a 2.5" dual system has the same cross sectional area as a 3.5" single system.
2.5" is right for this car until you go with a supercharger or anything pushing it up towards 400hp or beyond. Then think 2.75 or 3".
Besides, 3.5" will just sound tinny, like a grown up version of a ricer fart can.

I am poping a supercharger on there. Fist is exhaust, than a cai, then mabe the under drive pullys and internal work then the paxton super charger. I have $8000 saved up for this car. I look into the future bro.
Also some of that site is bull. My old car a 2003 hyundai tiburon first i just put mufflers. I dynoed my car at mt collage and it was putting out 168whp. I poped on the magnaflow mufflers and gainges 3whp. Then i put 2.75" pipes stock being 2" and gained 8whp. So you cant give me that "mufflers do no make hp"stuff.
I just had Bassani 4605-5's installed Thursday night
and lovin' every minute of it. No x-pipe yet...next on my list (right next to Steeda sport springs).
Idle, 2000, 3000 and 5500 rpm (Warning: contains a DIRTY Mustang)
Idle and rev
Video of trip around the block (Caution: contains Country music which may be contagious):

Yes, it is quite a bit louder than stock. I wish I had video'd the stock exhaust before for a comparison
They tip the sound level meter inside the car at slightly over 100 dB at full throttle.
If I find another stock GT around and have my camera, I'll do that. May have to go to the dealer to find one...
The stock exhaust sounded very nice to me too when I first heard it. Definitely an improvement over the '03 I had. But still quite quiet under light load.
My girlfriend and I went out together in it tonight. Her third trip in it and first with the new mufflers. I remember some comment about "hearing damage"
It's definitely not a "family car" now! A neighbor was just arriving home in the underground as we were leaving. His two boys (6 and 8?) both turned and their jaws dropped when I fired it up and pulled out!
Oh, and my g/f also asked me if this was helping me through my mid-life crisis!
If bigger pipes are better - then your hp would go to infinity if you remove the entire exhaust system, right? We know that is not the case.
Diameter, length and bend radius (as well as H-pipe location) can all affect hp and torque. Look at the hp and torque curves for different mufflers.
Same with cams - the highest lift and duration / overlap does not necessarily mean the most hp.
Case and point - exhaust system design is most critical on 2-cycle engines. Look at a motorcross bike.
The expansion chambers / mufflers are shaped and located the way they are for a darn good reason, not by accident.
Yes, a slight size increase over stock will probably gain a little hp. But there is a point of diminishing returns.
People who do not understand this probably think that chrome and stickers equal horsepower.

Does that speed-o read upto 200+ mph? How's that? Mine reads upto 145 mph.
EDIT: I see that you're from British Columbia, is that in km?
