I was wondering if anybody has hear anything about the Evolution Performance Tunes? They claim approx 35 rear wheel HP. Let me know if you have heard anything. Thanks!

I haven't had any experience with the Evolution Peformance Tunes. I will tell you that whoever you go with you should have your car dyno'd right away. All of our cars are little different and most tunes require a little tweaking for your car.

It is BS!!!

I got the X2 C&L kit from them. Great price, crappy tune!! The tune was very dangerous and would have hurt my motor is I had kept running it. I had planned all along on taking it to a Dyno tuner so I was not too pissed. I bought it when they were claiming 48hp!! I knew it was BS, I only got the kit because it was $100 cheaper than anyone else. They have since lowered their HP claim but it is still inflated. Take my advice and find a tuner that has a Dyno and either get the kit and tune from them or buy the kit and then take it in and get it tuned properly. DO NOT trust a tune that you can’t verify on a Dyno, every car is different so don’t risk hurting your motor. My total gain was about 15 RWHP with the kit and custom tune. That is about par for the C&L and X2, some get a little more, some get a little less but it is defiantly worth it.

Well, it should be a little more than 15rwhp. I believe most manuals dyno ~265rwhp stock. With your mods you have 292rwhp, which supports most tuners claims of 28-32rwhp with the intake/tuner package.

I did two Dyno pulls with nothing but my CDC Shaker and got 277 and some change. I find it hard to believe the shaker added 12rwhp. All it basically is, is a high flow filter in the stock air box, besides I've talked to others with the shaker that claim they LOST HP with it. After I added the C&L and custom tune it bumped it to 292 and some change. 277 – 292 = 15rwhp. Not an estimate, guess or calculation, it’s a fact and I have the Dyno sheets to prove it.

"which supports most tuners claims of 28-32rwhp with the intake/tuner package" Most tuner YES, but we are talking about Evolution and they "originally" claimed 48rwhp gains! Then they changed it to 38rwhp, I can only assume after they got some flack from their claim. Not to mention there tune was dangerous and in my opinion, CRAP!

NOW, I’m not saying I couldn’t get more HP out of it, but the tune I have is SAFE and the A/F ratio is right on the mark so I’m happy. I could have had the timing bumped up for some more HP but I did not want to risk it. My recommendation is to get the car on a Dyno and see exactly what it is putting down. Anything else is just guesswork.

From what I can see, the Evolution tune was a little safer than BamaChips. Performance was nearly equal. I will be contacting Doug about adjustments.

I gained 35 RWHP with mine. I put the lowest dyno numbers in my sig. But the best run was 305 hp 315 lbft. That was with C&L and Predator 91 Tune. Then again it wasn't one of those evolution tunes.

Well, I went ahead and purchased the package deal from Fred at Evolution and installed it yesterday. I installed the 87 octane tune just to get rid of the full tank that I currently have so I am waiting to install the 91 octane tune. I can say that I do notice a slight change in power but nothing significant. It sure sounds alittle meaner with the C&L. I hope that I notice alittle more when I flash it with the 91 tune but I dont think that it will be more than a couple horse power. I did also notice alittle pinging with the 87 tune but mainly around 5,000 RPM. I did line up with one of my buddies stock 06 gt mustang and we draged from 3 gear and he was pulling away from me slightly. So, I was alittle dissapointed. Maybe the tunes are more for bottom end? Anyways, I will keep you all updated once I install the 91 tune. I plan to get it on the dyno ASAP because I am worried aboput the A/F mixture. I dont want to hurt my baby!
