EPAS Conversion questions

I saw online that some ppl swaps the EPAS from a 2011+ into their 05-09. Has anyone here done that? I have questions.

First does the size of the Power Rack and Pinion matter? I see I can buy used ones but it states the size of the front wheels. I imagine they are all built the same?
Second, what about the wire harness. Can one use one from a Manual car into an Auto? I am assumining since all you need is the right connectors. Just would like confirmation.
Third, how and where do you plug everything in? I read somewhere that you can just use the cables, and tie them into the CAN bus wires and 12V IGN. Which CAN bus wires? I can probably find the 12V IGN cable...
I know of Cortex and Casey's site. I just cant justify paying $330 USD for a wire harness. Need to find a junkyard...

Any more info would be appreciated.

I Do Know the Racks Had Limiters For Turning Radius. That is Why So Many Different Racks. On the Oem 05-09 Style You Could Add Restrictor To Limit Steering. Bottom Line If You Run a Rack That Had Narrowest tires Vs Widest your Tires May Rub. So Be Advised When Sourcing a Rack.

As far as EPAS All I Can Say And this is Not Mustang Specific is We Had Far More EPS Failures on Ford Products in the Shop Like 20-1. That Was 5 Years Back When I Was Still At the Dealer. I don't Know if EPAS has Restrictor Option. It Is Possible Certain Racks May have Different Feel. So the Most Hi-perf Listing May Be the Way to Go!

Just an FYI My Friend. I Know you have the Determination to Give it a Go! If So Inclined.

Thanks KC for the reply tho I'm not sure why one would want to restrict thier steering.
After thinking about it I figured out my first question. Lol
I am thinking of replacing it so I can get rid of all the hydraulics and whatnot and make more room in the engine bay as well as these things tend to leak. So this would fix that problem as well as from what I understand they are better than what the 05-09 came with.

After posting my questions I figured it out lol. Now to just find everything but this is going to be a later mod as I need a new engine and transmission.

Thanks for the help m05fastbackGT but I am not looking for a steering rack stop kit.
Just wanted info about replacing the old hydraulic one with the newer electronic one.

Was just responding to several others that commented on the tire rub issues when at full lock turning, nothing more!
