Engine Idle Problem HELP

Dear All,

recently (since last oil filter change -maybe it was only a trigger) I noticed some rev-up problems..

Story:

if I start the engine it hits the higher rev but its normal. So I hit the road, and every time when I am stopping (red light, or whatever ) my engine revs for some unknown reason... (the engine is still cold) the only thing what stops the revving, is if I put the car into gear... but as soon as the engine is warmed up...its fine.

heres a video as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bTMg...layer_embedded

around 13 sec you can see what I am talking about. at that time I my leg was neither on the brake, or the gas.

HELP

Thanks in advance

I had an idle problem that was almost the same thing. It turned out that head on the drivers side of the motor went bad. Atleast that is what ford told me after sitting on my car for 19 weeks trying to figure it out.

The throttle body may need cleaning. Auto parts stores sell products specifically designed for this.

Yes^^^ I had idle problems and even an idle check engine light. I called brenspeed, they told me it's a common problem and to clean the throttle body. I purchased some throttle body cleaner from autozone, cleaned my throttle body and my idle problems and check engine light are gone!

Thanks for the reply although I have to admit that I am not really a "mechanic" type...

What is the easiest way to clean this? or is there a how to?

Thanks in advance

And I didn't take the throttle body off, just made sure I cleaned well behind the blades..

I gave them more than hell. I gave them
$3200 for some new cam phasers and phaser solenoids. Those plus labor and a new tune with an sct tuner cost me $3200. And after i got the car back it failed within 20 minutes of me having it back. Had it towed back and they pulled the motor and did a short block. All in all i got an entirely new motor other than the passenger side head and an intake manifold.

Wow.... I am really sorry to hear that..... Thats why I am a bit afraid, you know living in Germany without service/support from a dealership...and being an american muscle maniac.... ..bit tough...

anyway thank you all for the notes, if everything goes okay, I can do this procedure next weekend. After travelling around 1500km

Another question, - it does not worth another thread - what could be the life time for a stang v8 (4.6l ) ? I just reached 105000KM ....

idea?

Thanks again guys!

As long as you take care of your car you should be fine. You arent quiet at the 100,000 mile club but you are close. As far as the idle problem i would definately reccomend what everyone has said. Clean the throttle body and maybe have the fuel filter checked.

Hey there guys,

yesterday I had the chance to clean the throttle body and so far it seems good. To be honest I never felt the car acting like this good, better acceleration, at lower rpms the car works smoothly... and in a few hours I will have the chance to test the car (engine needs to cool down) during the shifting . I will post the results. Although during the disassembling phase I broke (great power) the following thing ...so I had to use duck tape

Do you know where can I get such an item/part? the most important thing can it be shipped to europe?

thanks

HEy There!

the idle problem has been solved, with cold engine it does not do the previously mentioned "effect"

but now I have to get used to this state I mean it runs so smoothly, although I noticed - but maybe its because of me - every time when I change gears it feels like it puts a plus force/power after releasing the clutch.... but maybe I am the one who too lame) anyway thanks for the time and effort,....but if you know where to get the mentioned part - which was broken --- please!!!
