Dyno Results w/Automatic Transmission

With the mods I have installed I was hoping to hit the 300 RWHP mark but fell short. Perhaps my expectations were too high. Most other dyno results that have been posted were vehicles equipped with 5 speed manual transmissions. Nonetheless here are the results.

First off let me apologize for the poor quality of the graph. I obviously am not a photographer either. All that being said let me tell you what the graph reads:
RWHP 276.52 / RWTQ 262.33 – first pull
RWHP 273.52 / RWTQ 277.47 – second pull
If you are able to read the graph you will see the air/fuel ratio seems lean. I called Cole & Scott at DiabloSport to question the results. They suggested bringing the vehicle to them to put on their dyno. So it’s off to DiabloSport this weekend. Will post those results as well. It will be interesting to see the results from DiabloSport verses an SCT dealer.
PS: I was present the entire time the vehicle was in the shop. All mods had been installed prior to first pull. No changes were made to the vehicle between pulls. Here’s something that does concern me. The total time on the dyno, including strapping down and unstrapping the vehicle was 12 minutes. Sure seems awfully quick to dyno the vehicle. However, on the bright side, the 4.10 gear installation went very well. Took 3 hours and is perfectly quiet.

Good questions. DiabloSport has this information as well. Hopefully we'll find out Saturday.

If I am seeing this right you power is way off. I have 269rwhp with trap ount and a can 87 diablo tune. You have C&L and exhaust? If so I would think you are about 15-20 hp off IMO. Good Luck.

Automatics need to be treated differently when dynoing to get the right numbers. I don't know the details off the top of my head, but I know we've talked about it before.
I also see you have that well known torque-converter loop, the key is getting around that condition.
If I'm not mistaken 2005RedGT (Bryan) has experienced it and can can tell you more about getting around it.

Sixty Six is correct from what I understand. Results from an automatic are different than a manual. I believe this was one of the few automatics that had been dyno'd at this location - can't say for sure. I'm sure all will be clear when I take the vehicle to DiabloSport on Saturday. Today I spoke with Scott Beer personally (which is very rare) who writes the tunes and he requested me to bring the vehicle to him. He will be dyno testing it Saturday. Should be interesting. I will post the results for all to see.

Yes your numbers are off, esp for a Dyno Jet. With your mods, at 13:1 you should have a min of 290rwhp - since you are an auto.
Now, did the guy who 'ran' the car know that this is a 5 speed auto ? Did he turn off O/D and use 4th ? Everyone of the the dyno techs assume that this is a 4 speed auto and put it in "3" on the shifter.
* Make sure they ease up to 3000 in 4th, then ease up to 5800-6300 RPM or it will spike (as in the graph) and give you an incorrect rwhp and rwtq rating.
Now, SCT has some tranny program that locks up the converter better and may help, but since you are Diablo ... you may have to wait for that from them
BTW a 12 min dyno is fine - as long as you get the 13:1 AND you are happy with the results. Sounds as if you are not. I would try to find someone else to help you.

For what it's worth I got no noticable gains with the canned tune from either Diablo or SCT. With my car there doesn't seem to be anything from just a tune to be gained. I'm averaging 258 rwhp with a tune. Baselined at 255hp.
For what it's worth.

looks like you are pretty lean if i'm reading the graph right. and it looks like hp is around 265 but jumps to 270's for that torque converter loop and then comes back down a split second later. get that fuel/air mix tuned in and you should be good to go.
