Dspec install question Help! ASAP
Do you resuse the bumpstop from the old strut? Yellow mushroom thing on the stock struts
Plus what about the dust boots. The factory one has a metal washer at the top. Dspec dust boot does not and is wide open.

I purchased new bumpstops from ground control because I was building entirely new strut assemblies. If you don't have new ones - then you should transfer the old ones over - possibly cutting them down some. I used stock (factory) dust boots with my d-specs.

We re-used the bump stops and dust boot on both Leo_06GT's and superfly_s197's when we did the D-Spec install a couple weeks ago.
No new dust boots were included in their box.
Even looking at my new set sitting in the garage, no dust boots included either.

Hmm. Well its all done now anyway. I went looking for your write up, but could not find it in the heat of the install, lol. Although I did read it all last week, I did not remember.

Sorry, D-Spec write-up isn't done yet, I'm planning on documenting the install on my car. I used those other 2 cars as test beds for any install issues/concerns, so my write-up is spot on.

Ah crap. Figures. I did not even think about the dust boot.
I got a set of Steeda HD street upper strut mounts on the way and I ordered a new spring isolator in hopes of removing my stock springs/struts as one piece and leaving them intact. Then install my D-Specs and Steeda Comp springs. If I need to transfer the dust boot, I guess I'll need to disassemble the stockers anyway.
Anyone else install D-Specs without using a dust boot?

I dont think I would recommend it.
I was surprised my camber after the drop was still plenty in specs.
The new strut mounts from Ford took care of the chuckle/klumk over bumps. Big difference!
