Alright, the wife is out of town tonight, and I've had a "few"...if you know what I mean.
I need some responses from everyone out there.
-Have about $1000 to spend tonight.
thinking about ordering a tuner...but which one...this is where your replies come into play
also know I'm ordering a gear, looking at either 4.10 or 4.30...help me out if you already have one of the two.
....that looks like about $600 in parts so far, so help me out w/ what ever else you think would benefit, but I'm not sure about the CAI kits yet, thinking about just adding the K&N panel filter as I have on every other Mustang I've owned.
******* Help me spend my money tonight, before the wife gets home *******
P.S. The car already has Flowmaster Mufflers and hollowed out Cats and cut springs.

Bucky... If I had a grand, here's what I'd do. First of all, if you don't have a tuner, that would definitely be first. Especially with mods you've done like the cats, etc. I ordered mine from http://www.modulardepot.com/product_info.p...&products_id=82 and although it's $375 instead of the $350 you can find it for on other sites, it comes with a free $50 cable to hook up to your PC at home so that you can do yor own custom tunes. Second, IMO would be gears. That's the next mod I am doing. I've researched gears a lot in the past couple weeks and the 4.10's are what I am going to get because they are small enough to get the job done but not so much so that you get 10 miles to the gallon. Next, I would think about a good intake. I have heard a lot of good things about the C&L intake... one guy gained 23 HP after installing the C&L intake and then fooling with the a/f ratio a bit. After that, with whatever is left over, I might get some rear drag shocks. I'd say get the drag shocks over pulleys, which might be another idea. I have just been hearing bad things about pulleys lately. As little as 2-8 HP for a $200 mod.

greaty appreciated Ian, I think you just sealed the deal...I was leaning towards the programmer and the gears in the first place.
But then again, do I want different wheels? That's the true debate. Power or looks, I've already got a 10 sec Mustang to back up the 05, but going fast is definately an addiction. Can't make up my mind on wheels yet, but I know I want gears and a tuner. What a tangled web we weave???

Sounds just right for
- $350 Diablo Predator Tuner. Just used mine and it ROCKS!
- $180 Ford racing 4.10 gears
- $199 MMR Annililator intake kit
- $250 Underdrive Pulley

= $979

Thats leaves $21 for a case of beer!!!!!

Unless you're doing all the installation, add some for labor.

Gear installation is best left to proffesionals.

Bucky... curious to know if you are going to attempt to install the gears yourself. I have talked to some guys who say it's easy. Some say never try it yourself. Same thing with something as simple as pulleys. I think it's doable with some knowledge. What are your thoughts. Installation is like $300.

I think the worst part of the gear install is the tools you need. I will be doing a gear install probably this weekend in my driveway. It doesn't look terribly different from what I do at work (machinist).

I would get JLTs CAI to save some money on that, and order my pulleys from Sean Hyland Motorsport to save money on that too. That should save close to 125 more. Then use that for some dyno time.

thanks for all the help, gears and rebuilding transmissions is about the only thing I don't do...trust the pros on that one.
It costs about 150.00 here for a gear install, have had many installed at the same place, and have never had one make any noise.

$150 for a gear install?! That's it. I'm moving.

BTW, if you've got a grand to spend, this is how you should spend it.

Purple Hayz... that is a great idea. That is a sweet setup for a grand. I'm just curious to why it's only 35 HP.

And I hope I can find someone to install my gears for $150. How do you go about finding a good shop to do it for cheap? Anything to look for or ask about?

one way, would to be to ask around at the local dragstrip, or talk to others w/ gears in town.
