Do you get trumpets only if you run a tune?

Do you get trumpets only if you run a tune?

Do you get trumpetting only if you run a tune? I keep reading about the famous trumpetting but everybody that has the trumpets seem to run a tune!

That's because a lot of us had a CAI+tune as our first mod.

IMO, if you remove the stock cats, you're a candidate for trumpets depending on what axlebacks you have.

+1 The trumpeting comes when you dump the cats for an off road midpipe. CAI and tune won't really change the tone or resonance of the exhaust, but it will rev quicker and get loud a lot quicker. Under the hood does get a lot louder when you mash the gas with a CAI.

But don't worry about getting trumpeting until you start changing the stock cats, even axle backs don't cause it, or at least none that I have ever heard.
