Do 4.10s work with a supercharger?

Ok, I know 3.73 is the preferred ratio for forced induction with a manual trans, but is anyone out there running a 4.10/blown setup? My reason for asking is, I had the 4.10s put in back when I was planning on staying NA. Now I'm torn between buying the LTs (which I can afford right now) or waiting a few more months till I have enough cash for a Kenne Bell or Whipple. The only problem with the latter is it'll be another $500 to come up with if I have to get the gears changed again (one job I won't do myself). Any thoughts?

I'm planning on getting 4.10's for my car if I keep it, however I'm running a procharger so it'd be a little different on my car than a car with a twin screw.

I've got 4.10's with a SALEEN blower and have no issues at all. I'm still only at around 2800rpm cruisin down the highway at 80mph. It pulls like a freight train off the line! I wouldn't waste the money on new gears...... get blown!

After >15,000 street miles and and 580 track runs with 4.10s and a KB supercharger, I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I replaced my gears about two months ago, and had another set of 4.10s installed. Of course, traction became an issue once the blower went on (no surprise there), but that was solved by drag radials on the street and slicks at the track.

Cool. I'd really like to keep the 4.10s as this seems to be the perfect ratio for these cars. I was just worried about traction issues but it sounds like it's not a problem. Btw, I'm going to upgrade to 18x10s out back to run some wider tires. Thanks for the info.

M&H Racemasters, 325/45-17 (but they aren't really true 325s... more like 265 or 275) on 17x9 wheels. They are 10.3" wide and 28" diameter, and they hook quite well on the street.

If I had 18x10 wheels, I'd run the Nitto NT555R 305/45-18 on the street.

4.10s, whipple and auto transmission here. no issues :-) I just got back from a trip to Phoenix and back to Los Angeles, handles fine on the highway (though mileage isn't so good with blower + steep gears) I got around 15-17mpg running anywhere from about 75-85mph

Probably had the A/C on... that thing kills mileage.

M/T 295/45-17's. Do ya think those will help me get my 60 footers down? The replacement for my UPS lost in shipping rim won't be in until next week(as long as UPS doesn't lose it again).

Depends... are you spinning on the launch now? If not, then they may not help much. If you are spinning, then they could help a bunch.

And with those tires, I think 4.10s would work well for you.

2.40 60 footers with lots of spin all through first gear and a fair amout of spin when I bang second(the track was real greasey). Hoping to get down to a 1.90 or better. That should get me into the 12's.

With a SC, I would hope mid to low 12s, at least.

I'm only running 5-6 lbs boost. So mid to low 12's would be a tough on a hot day. Plus we are at 2200 ft above sea level. A strong running stock GT runs low 14's up here(most mid to high 14's). My buddies GT with headers, full exhaust, CAI, tune and poly motor mounts has only been able to crack 13.70's this year and 13.50's last fall when it was cooler and the air was better. Also they never prep the track and it's always very slick. My worst time with the s/c was a 1/2 second faster than my best time stock and my best time so far was almost a full second better than stock.I would like to see what some of you faster guys would run up here.
