I raced a friend of mine in his 05 GT manual (stock -HC filter +Drop in K&N) in my 05 GT auto (CAI & SCT tune). We raced from 0 mph to about 90 and I beat him by about 2-3 car lengths I was still slowly pulling away, considering our trap speeds are low 100's I would assume I would have had fron 3.5 to 5 car lenghts on him at the 1/4 mile. My question is what kind of time difference would that be.

 

I'd guess 3 tenths of a second.

 

Not trying to be an hiney here, but he must not know how to drive very well. A 5-speed is 3-4 tenths quicker than an auto from the factory and has quit a bit more hp and tq.

 

Ah, but look at the mods - the auto has a tune and the manual didn't... That may make up for the auto's slow shifting and less RWHP from the factory.

 

On the cars that PHP has done, the cai and tune still didn't match a bone stock 5-speed. I dont know about making a stock auto shift like a 5-speed either

 

I have not seen any test that show the Manual being substantially faster than the auto I have messed around with two manuals when we were all bone stock and we were all very even. As far as my partners driving skills go I think he is above average, he has owned more than one fast car that were manual.

 

my 05 was not that fast at first i got beat by a low mod 02 mustang gt,but after the tune 410,c@l ,pullies,x pipe well we tried again and well i beat him by 4 cars.
