It really bugs me that they release these things without any details whatsoever... If someone is listening...a short release note would be very helpful!!!

yeah they always do that. R23 ended up being not a significant update. What really makes me mad is I check the Diablo page probably twice a day for updates and it wasn't updated this morning when I looked and I find out about it first on here.

What i do need from them is a tune for my darn K&N intake

Just spoke to Brian @ Diablosport (561-908-0041). Sounds like there is really nothing to be gained for us 05 users. The update makes the tool compatible for certain 06 models that the tool was not previously compatible with.

Dustin I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that checks DiabloSport's website twice a day (or more) for updates.

Man Diablo really seems to be treating the 2005 Mustang tuner like a red headed stepchild. They're not doing much more development at all, which is obvious with their urgency to release a K&N tune.

SCT seems to be the only outfit which is doing a lot with the 05/06

What do you really expect from Diablo? Just go get a custom tune from a tuner on their network already.

Diablo is NOT going to help you. Guess what, neither is SCT.

What can be said is that it appears that SCT shops are more willing to come up with canned solutions than Diablo shops.

I think that accurately sums up the difference.

Like Dan said, find a Diablo shop in your area and have it tuned.

The Diablo shop in my area charges $200 an hour for dyno tunes, eek.

Have you actually talked to them? I've found that looking at a quote sheet and actually talking to the mechanic will yield a difference!

Take for instance one shop that I've found in town that will tune for $75 an hour, and throw in a couple of pulls for another $70 (His dyno tuning time is listed at $150 an hour). He says it'll take about 2 hours to do a tune.

Definitely...I could use one too but I'm not unhappy with my track numbers right now with the canned tune.

The money you would spend on a dyno tune with the few mods you have are better spent on 4.10 gears and Mickey Thompson tires. You would hit 12.70s easy with those 2 mods.

I'm not going to spend any money on a tune unless I make a mod that requires it, like pullies or nitrous

I have the C&L/Predator, and ever since I put it in, Ive had a slightly rough idle [stick trans] and some soot at the Flowmater tips. Runs much peppier tho. No decent dynos in this area, and I didnt have any luck when I called Diablosport. A guy on another forum insists that I need an oil seperator in the pcv line. He swears it will cure all. Anyone heard of this?

You are not going to find many people running an oil separator as it is not required. As for you tune. What have you done other than install it? A rich mixture makes soot in the tailpipe. Have you data logged to see where your mixture is? I found mine was way rich. Are you running C&L 92 octane tune?
You did not give your location so we can't help you find a tuner in your area.

How do you datalog the mixture with the Predator? I didn't think you could tell if you were rich/lean with it.

you can monitor a/f by datalogging and hooking it up to your PC to read it. I haven't done it yet and I was actually planning to try it right now.

It's not wideband, just narrow band. It will tell you if you're rich/lean, but not the ratio, but it's something.

Didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm "Dog-Piling" on this one.

I have a U7140 Predator. Is there any way I can get it Re-Loaded, Re-Flashed, or Re-Configured to work on a 05 Ford F-150 ?

As soon as I get my SCT Xcal2 (enroute), I'll no longer need the Predator. I'd hate to sell it, because I'm in the market for an F-150 Tuner.

Anyway or Anybody know if this can be done?

Tom
